Eaton Protection Box 6 Tel@ USB DIN — Surge Protector with Phone/DSL Line Protection and USB
6x SchukoRJ11 phone/DSL protection2x USB 2.4 AIEC 61643-11
The Eaton Protection Box 6 Tel@ USB DIN (PB6TUD) is a six-socket Schuko surge protector that also protects a telephone/xDSL line and adds two USB charging ports. It is aimed at home offices and small businesses where a router, PC, monitor and phone line all need protection against surges arriving from either the mains or the telecom line.
Mains protection is tested to IEC/EN 61643-11 with a total rating of 18,000 A (three 6,000 A MOVs), a voltage protection level below 1.5 kV and a response time under 1 ns. The RJ11 line protection is rated 10,000 A. A 10 A circuit breaker guards against overload, the strip handles up to 10 A / 2500 W at 220–250 V, and it can be wall-mounted.
Before you order: Cyprus wall outlets are BS 1363 (Type G). This product has a Schuko (CEE 7/7) plug, so it needs a Schuko outlet or a properly rated Type G adapter; a fused 13 A adapter caps the total load at roughly 3,000 W. Line protection covers RJ11 telephone/xDSL lines only, not RJ45 Ethernet.
What's in the Box
- 1x Eaton Protection Box 6 Tel@ USB DIN with fixed 1.5 m cable and Schuko plug
- 1x RJ11 telephone/internet cable
- 1x quick guide
What It Means in Practice
- Route the DSL line through the RJ11 in/out ports so surges on the phone line are diverted before they reach your modem.
- Plug the modem, PC and monitor into the protected sockets and charge a phone from the USB ports.
- The 10 A breaker trips if you overload it; reduce the load and reset.
- Keep the total under 2500 W — lower than many basic strips.
What Will Not Work
- Ethernet (RJ45) or coaxial line protection — only RJ11 is supported.
- Loads above 10 A / 2500 W, such as heaters or kettles.
- Fast laptop charging over USB — the two ports share 2.4 A.
- Direct use in a Cyprus Type G wall outlet without a Schuko outlet or rated adapter.
- Battery backup during power cuts — use a UPS.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it protect my Ethernet cable?
No. Data-line protection is for RJ11 telephone/xDSL lines only.
Why only 2500 W?
The strip is rated at 10 A with a matching 10 A breaker, so the maximum load is 2500 W. Avoid heaters and kettles on it.
Can it be wall-mounted?
Yes, Eaton specifies wall mounting as an option.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Most surges that kill modems arrive over the phone line, which ordinary surge strips ignore. The Protection Box covers both mains and RJ11/DSL in one unit, which makes it a sensible choice for home offices on copper DSL lines. For other options see our
power strips and extension leads range.
✓ Buy it if you want mains plus phone/DSL surge protection for a modem, PC and peripherals.
✕ Skip it if you need Ethernet or coax protection, high-wattage loads, or battery backup.
→ Also consider an Eaton UPS for backup power, or the Brennenstuhl Secure-Tec 19,500 A for mains-only protection.
