Eaton Tripp Lite NGI-S08C2POE8 — 8-port industrial Gigabit PoE+ switch for DIN rail
8× PoE+ Gigabit2× SFP uplinkDIN rail · IP3024–57 VDC
The Eaton Tripp Lite NGI-S08C2POE8 is an 8-port lite managed industrial Gigabit Ethernet switch with PoE+ on every RJ45 port and two Gigabit SFP slots, built for control cabinets, factory floors, traffic and outdoor-enclosure installations where office switches fail.
Each port supplies up to 30W (IEEE 802.3at), with a total PoE budget of 240W when fed from 48 VDC (120W at 24 VDC). The fanless IP30 aluminium housing clips onto 35mm DIN rail, takes dual redundant 24–57 VDC inputs on a terminal block with an alarm relay, and operates from −10 to 60°C.
Before you order: There is no AC adapter and no AC input. You need a DIN-rail DC power supply of 24–57 VDC — and 48 VDC or higher to unlock the full 240W PoE budget.
What's in the Box
- NGI-S08C2POE8 switch with DIN-rail clip pre-installed (no other items listed by Eaton)
What It Means in Practice
- Power IP cameras, wireless access points and industrial devices directly over the data cable, up to 30W each.
- Use the two SFP slots for a fibre uplink to a distant cabinet (100Base-FX or 1000Base-X modules).
- Wire two DC supplies for redundancy; the relay contact can trigger an alarm if one fails.
- The browser GUI covers QoS, IGMP snooping, DHCP snooping, storm control, SNMP and RMON without a CLI.
What Will Not Work
- It will not plug into a wall socket — a separate DC PSU is required.
- At 24 VDC the PoE budget halves to 120W, so eight 30W devices will not all run.
- SFP modules are not included.
- VLAN and CLI support are not published for this lite managed model.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which power supply do I need?
A DIN-rail PSU of 48 VDC (or up to 57 VDC) sized for your PoE load plus 13W for the switch. Tell us your devices and we will size it.
Can I use it in an office?
Yes, but a desktop AC-powered PoE switch is simpler indoors. This model is built for cabinets and harsh environments.
Do the SFP slots take copper modules?
Eaton states the SFP slots accept 100Base-FX and 1000Base-X modules for fibre or copper uplinks.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
This is a cabinet switch, not a desk switch: the value is in DIN-rail mounting, wide temperature range and redundant DC power. Plan the DC supply first — at 48 VDC you get the full 240W PoE. Browse more options in our
switches range.
✓ Buy it if you are powering cameras or access points from an industrial cabinet or outdoor enclosure.
✕ Skip it if you need a plug-in AC switch for an office desk or full Layer 2 VLAN management.
→ Also consider a matching 48 VDC DIN-rail power supply and SFP modules for the fibre uplink.
Send us your camera/AP models and cabinet power and we will design the PoE budget before you order.
