EFB-Elektronik Cat.6 Connecting Module for Installation Cable, 250 MHz, Shielded, Tool-Free IDC Terminals, Silver
EFB-Elektronik 37596.2 Connecting Module Cat.6, 250 MHz, with IDC Terminals
The EFB-Elektronik 37596.2 is a Cat.6 connecting module that joins two lengths of network installation cable: each cable end is terminated on insulation-displacement (IDC) terminals inside a small shielded housing. It is the tool for extending a cable that is too short, or repairing a damaged one, without pulling a complete new cable segment.
EFB rates it up to 250 MHz with a 360° shield contact, screw-type strain relief and adhesive pads for fixing the module in a ceiling, trunking or floor box. It takes solid-core round cable from 26 to 22 AWG, and EFB states that no special tool is needed.
What's in the Box
- 1 x EFB-Elektronik 37596.2 Cat.6 connecting module, silver
- Screw-type strain relief (M3 x 12)
- Adhesive pads for fixing
What It Means in Practice
- Repair a cut or damaged cable run in a ceiling or trunking without replacing it end to end.
- Extend a cable that comes up short of the patch panel or outlet.
- Shield continuity is kept through the 360° shield contact when you join shielded cable.
What Will Not Work
- It does not accept RJ45 plugs or patch cables.
- It is not for stranded (litz) or flat cable; EFB lists solid-core round cable.
- It is rated Cat.6 / 250 MHz, not Cat.6A / 10 Gigabit over full length.
- IP20 only: it is not suitable for wet or outdoor locations.
