EFB 37507.1 — a simple RJ45 coupler for patch cables

The EFB-Elektronik 37507.1 is a modular adapter for connecting two patch cables: an RJ45 socket at each end with a straight 1:1 pin allocation, in a metal-coloured housing. EFB describes it as a connecting adapter for patch cables. In practice it lengthens a patch cord that is too short, joins two cords during a desk or equipment move, or bridges a gap until a proper cable is laid.
Compatibility — check before buying:
A coupler joins two patch cords that already have RJ45 plugs — it does not terminate installation cable. The 37507.1 is unshielded (UTP), so it interrupts the shield of an STP/FTP link and is not the right part for shielded Cat.6A or Cat.7 cabling — EFB offers a shielded version of this adapter. EFB does not state a Cat rating for it. Keep the total length of the joined cords within the usual 100 m Ethernet channel. Tell us the model you have and we check it before you order.
