EFB HDMI-20-00007 Active Optical HDMI Cable, 10 m

Fibre-optic HDMI 2.0 cable that carries uncompressed 4K at 60 Hz over 10 m without signal loss or interference.
4K@60Hz · 18 Gbit/s10 m AOCHDMI 2.0 · HDCP 2.2HDR · 12-bit Deep Color

The EFB-Elektronik HDMI-20-00007 is a 10 m active optical HDMI cable (AOC) for HDMI 2.0 sources and displays, transmitting 4K at 60 Hz with up to 18 Gbit/s bandwidth over fibre instead of copper. It is built for AV installers, conference rooms, digital signage and home cinemas where a normal copper HDMI cable cannot reach reliably.

An integrated signal-conversion chip in the plugs turns the HDMI signal into light and back, so the picture stays stable over the full length and is immune to electrical interference. The plugs have zinc alloy shells with gold-plated contacts and are laser-marked Source and Display.

Supported features listed by EFB include HDCP 2.2, HDR, 12-bit Deep Color, 3D, ARC and CEC, and the cable ships in plastic-free cardboard packaging.

Compatibility Note: This AOC is directional: connect the end marked Source to the player/PC and the end marked Display to the TV or projector — reversed, there is no picture. It is HDMI 2.0 (4K@60Hz, 18 Gbit/s) and does not support 4K@120Hz, 8K or eARC.

Key Features

Long reach without signal loss
Fibre carries the signal optically over 10 m, avoiding the attenuation and dropouts of long passive copper HDMI runs.

Thin, interference-free run
Optical transmission is immune to electromagnetic interference from power cables and lighting, making it well suited to ceilings, conduits and rental setups.

Robust connectors
Zinc alloy plug housings with gold-plated contacts are rated for up to 5,000 mating cycles, with kink protection and a flame-retardant PVC jacket.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the HDMI-20-00007 need an external power supply?
EFB lists it as powered from the HDMI port, and no separate power adapter is included. The active chip draws its power from the source device.
Can I plug either end into the TV?
No. Active optical HDMI cables work in one direction only. The plug marked Source goes to the player, PC or AV receiver output and the plug marked Display goes to the TV, projector or monitor.
Is the HDMI-20-00007 suitable for 4K 120Hz gaming or 8K?
No. It is an HDMI 2.0 cable rated for 4K at 60 Hz and 18 Gbit/s. For 4K@120Hz or 8K you need an Ultra High Speed (48 Gbit/s) HDMI 2.1 cable.
Singular Expert Insight
Over about 10–15 m, passive copper HDMI becomes unreliable at 4K, and an AOC like this is the standard fix for projectors, ceiling installs and signage. Order a little extra length rather than too little — you cannot join two AOCs reliably — and remember the Source/Display direction when pulling it through conduit.
✓ Buy it if you need stable 4K@60Hz over 10 m to a projector, TV or display.
✕ Skip it if you need 4K@120Hz, 8K or eARC — choose an HDMI 2.1 cable.
→ Also consider EFB HDMI-20-00008 (20 m) or HDMI-20-00010 (50 m) from the same AOC series for longer runs.
