EPOS IMPACT D 30 Phone — Binaural DECT Headset for Desk Phones
Base station connects to your desk phoneDECT range up to 55 m in an officeUp to 8 h wideband talk timeEPOS ActiveGard hearing protection
The EPOS IMPACT D 30 is a two-eared DECT office headset with its own base station, built for staff who take calls all day and need to step away from the desk without ending them. DECT gives it up to 55 metres of range in a normal office and 180 metres in clear line of sight, on a radio that does not share the crowded Wi-Fi bands. Both earcups are covered, the boom carries an ultra noise-cancelling microphone, and EPOS ActiveGard guards against sudden acoustic shock. Article number 1000987 is the Phone variant, and that is the one detail that decides whether it will work on your setup: its base station connects to a desk phone.
Compatibility — check before buying:
This variant connects to a desk phone and nothing else. The base station takes the supplied audio phone cable to a desk phone. It has no USB socket for a computer, so if your team runs Teams, Zoom or any other softphone on a laptop, article 1000991 — the USB ML variant — is the one to order. Remote call answering away from the desk needs the EPOS HSL 10 II handset lifter or an EHS cable, and neither is in this box. The D 30 is a headband headset with two earcups — it is not a convertible model, and there is no ear hook or neckband option. The single-sided convertible in this family is the IMPACT D 10. Tell us which phone or which softphone you run and we will confirm it before you order.
Best For
✓ Staff who take calls all day from one position
✓ Offices that want to step away from the desk mid-call
✓ Desk-phone estates that have not moved to softphones
✓ Rooms where Wi-Fi is already congested and DECT is cleaner
✓ Small teams that occasionally put four headsets on one call
✓ Anyone who wants both ears covered rather than one
Key Features
DECT range that covers a floor
Up to 55 metres in a typical office and up to 180 metres in line of sight, on the EU 1,880 to 1,900 MHz DECT band with CAT-iq 1.0. That is a headset you can walk to the printer with, not one that cuts out at the edge of the desk.
Up to four headsets on one call
EPOS publishes conferencing for up to four IMPACT D headsets on a single call. It turns a one-person headset into an ad-hoc huddle without booking a meeting room or a speakerphone.
ActiveGard acoustic shock protection
EPOS ActiveGard guards against sudden loud tones on the line — the kind that arrive without warning on a contact-centre shift. It is a published safety feature, not a volume limiter bolted on afterwards.
Charges fast enough for a shift
Half a charge in 20 minutes and a full charge in one hour, with up to 100 hours of standby. A headset that ran flat over lunch is usable again by the time the next call starts.

Singular Expert Insight
The IMPACT D 30 comes in two variants that look identical in a listing and are not interchangeable: 1000987 is the desk-phone version and 1000991 is the USB softphone version. The headset, the DECT radio, the 8-hour talk time and the 85 g weight are the same on both — the base station is the entire difference, and it cannot be changed later. This article is the Phone variant, connecting to a desk phone. One more distinction worth making before you order: the D 30 is the two-eared headband model, while the D 10 in the same family is the lighter single-sided convertible. If your staff are on softphones and never touch a desk phone, a Bluetooth headset from a range like the Jabra Evolve2 will usually cost less and charge over the same USB-C cable as everything else on the desk; DECT earns its place when people move around the floor. For conference rooms rather than personal headsets, look at our video conferencing range.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
Your staff take calls from a desk phone all day and need to step away from the desk without dropping them. Up to 55 metres of DECT range, 8 hours of wideband talk, four-headset conferencing and ActiveGard protection make it a proper all-day tool rather than a casual headset.
Skip it if
Skip it if your calls come from a computer — this base station has no USB socket, and article 1000991 is the version you want. Skip it if you want a single-sided convertible headset, which is the IMPACT D 10, or if nobody ever leaves the desk, where a cheaper wired or Bluetooth headset does the same work.
Also consider
Article 1000991, the D 30 USB ML, if your calls actually come from a computer softphone. The EPOS HSL 10 II handset lifter if you need to answer calls from across the room. The IMPACT D 10 if a lighter single-sided convertible headset suits the job better.
