The Equip 128968 solves a different problem from a hub that lies on the desk: it clamps to the edge of a desk or a monitor, up to 30 mm thick, so the ports sit in reach and nothing is taking up surface space. It brings two USB-A ports, one USB-C port and both an SD 3.0 and a microSD slot, all at up to 5 Gbps, and Equip states both cards can be used at the same time. A screw locking mechanism with a silicone pad holds it without scratching, and the housing is aluminium.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Check the edge first: the clamp fits a desk or monitor up to 30 mm thick. It is a USB-C host — the hub plugs into a USB-C port on your machine. There is a separate USB-C 5 V / 2 A socket for power, and the power cord is not included: that socket is an input, not an extra data port and not a charging output, so a phone plugged in there will do nothing useful. Equip does not publish a per-port current figure, so bus-powered hard drives are not a safe assumption without the extra supply. The card slots are 3.0-generation reading UHS-I speeds; faster UHS-II media works but at UHS-I rates.

Will the clamp fit my desk or monitor?
It is made for an edge up to 30 mm thick, which covers most desktops, most monitor bezels and the side panels of many all-in-ones. Measure the edge where you want it — a thick solid-wood worktop or a chunky monitor stand may be over the limit. The screw lock with a silicone pad means it grips firmly without marking the surface, so it is safe on a good desk or a monitor.
Can I read an SD and a microSD card at the same time?
Yes. Equip publishes that both cards can be used simultaneously, which is not true of every combined reader — many share one channel and take one card at a time. Both slots are 3.0-generation, so they read UHS-I cards at full speed; UHS-II media will work but at UHS-I rates.
What is the extra USB-C socket for?
Power in, not data or charging out. If you connect several devices at once, or something that draws real current, the laptop port alone may not be enough — that socket lets you feed the hub from a 5 V / 2 A supply instead. The cord is not in the box, so tell us if you want one and we will match it. Do not plug a phone into that socket expecting it to charge.
