The equip 133104 adds wired Gigabit Ethernet to a laptop, tablet or desktop through USB — and it is a 5 m cable, not a small adapter: the USB end goes into the computer and the other end is an RJ45 plug that goes straight into a switch, router or wall outlet. The 2-in-1 connector fits both USB-C and USB-A ports, so the same cable works with new and older machines without an extra adapter. It uses the Realtek RTL8153 chipset for up to 1000 Mbps and supports IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet, flow control, 802.1p priority and 802.1Q VLAN tagging. equip describes it as plug-and-play without drivers and lists Windows 7/8/10/11, macOS 10.6 or later, ChromeOS, Android 10 or later and Linux. The cable is shielded with an aluminium housing.
Compatibility — check before buying:
The network end is an RJ45 plug, not a socket — it plugs directly into the switch, router or wall outlet; you cannot connect a separate network cable to it. Plan the 5 m route from the computer to the network port. Gigabit speed needs a Gigabit switch or router; a USB 2.0 port may limit throughput.
