The equip 147922 is a 3 m TOSLINK optical digital audio cable (S/PDIF) with a TOSLINK male plug on both ends, for connecting a TV, game console, Blu-ray or media player, or PC to a soundbar, AV receiver or DAC with an optical input.

Because the signal travels as light, the connection is immune to electrical interference and ground hum between TV and audio system. Per equip, it has a polished optical lens, gold-plated connector housings and a durable PVC jacket, and the 3 m length lets the soundbar or receiver sit away from the screen.

• TOSLINK (optical S/PDIF) carries digital stereo PCM or compressed surround such as Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 — the format is set by the source device, not by the cable.
• Lossless formats (Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby Atmos over TrueHD) do not pass over optical; those need HDMI eARC.
• Remove the small protective caps from both plugs before inserting; the plug is keyed and fits the port only one way.
• On the TV, set the audio output to the optical/digital output and choose PCM or Bitstream to match what your soundbar or receiver decodes.
• The cable carries audio only — controlling the soundbar volume with the TV remote depends on the devices (IR learning or HDMI-CEC), not on this cable.
• Route it with gentle curves and do not crush or kink it; the optical core inside can be damaged by sharp bends.

• HDMI ARC/eARC connections — this is an optical-only cable.
• Devices with only a 3.5 mm mini-optical socket — they need a mini-TOSLINK adapter or cable.
• Analogue inputs (RCA, 3.5 mm headphone jack) — it carries a digital optical signal only.
• Lossless surround (Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD MA, Atmos via TrueHD) — optical S/PDIF cannot carry it.
• Video — TOSLINK carries audio only.
