The Equip 118972 extends a digital DVI cable using a male DVI-D plug at one end and a female socket at the other. The 1.8m black PVC lead is useful when moving a monitor a little farther from an installed workstation cable, while retaining the existing digital connector type.

This male/female extension needs an existing matching male-ended DVI cable. Check the combined route length and the required screen mode: the manufacturer lists up to 1920×1200 without a refresh rate. The Dual Link connector label is not a higher-resolution guarantee.
