The equip 125295 is a 50-port Cat 3 unshielded 19-inch 1U ISDN patch panel in black (RAL 9005). It mounts in a 19-inch rack, takes up 1U and is built for telephone and ISDN distribution rather than Ethernet data. Installation cable is punched down on the back with an LSA or 110 punch-down tool, and the 50 RJ45 sockets on the front take ordinary patch cords. In practice it gives the cables coming from wall outlets and ceilings a fixed, labelled end point next to your phone system, so that moves and changes are made with short patch cords at the panel instead of re-terminating installation cable. When the network grows, you add a panel and a few patch cords rather than pulling new cable to every desk, and a clearly numbered panel makes it quick to find which outlet a fault or a new device is on.

Compatibility — check before buying:
This is the 50-port model — equip’s 25-port ISDN panels are 125298 (black) and 125296 (grey). The ports are fixed and terminated with an LSA or 110 punch-down tool, which is not in the box. This is a Cat 3 voice panel: equip builds it for voice and ISDN, with Cat 3 RJ45 ports — it is not made for 100 Mbit/s or Gigabit Ethernet data.
