Equip LC-SC Duplex Fiber Optic Patch Cable, OS2 Single-Mode 9/125, 3m, LSZH, Yellow
OS2 single-modeLC-SC duplex3 mLSZH
The Equip 254333 is a 3 m duplex LC-to-SC single-mode OS2 (9/125 µm) fibre patch cable with a LSZH jacket in yellow, for connecting LR/LX single-mode optics in switches, routers, media converters and patch panels.
Duplex means two fibres in one cord: one transmits and one receives, which is what almost every SFP module and media converter expects. The LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) jacket gives off little smoke and no halogen gases in a fire, which is why it is the usual choice for offices, server rooms and shared spaces.
What's in the Box
- 1 × LC/SC duplex fibre patch cable, 3 m

What It Means in Practice
- Single-mode OS2 is what long-reach optics expect: SFP, SFP+, SFP28 and QSFP modules marked LX, LR, ER or ZR (1310/1550 nm). The distance limit comes from the transceiver, not from this 3 m cord.
- UPC polish (flat end face): it mates with standard UPC single-mode ports and couplers, which is what most data and enterprise SFP optics use.
- LC: the small-form-factor connector used by SFP, SFP+, SFP28 and QSFP transceivers and most modern patch panels
- SC: the larger square push-pull connector found on media converters, older switch modules, GPON ONTs and many patch panels
- Colour code: yellow is the usual jacket colour for single-mode fibre, so the run is easy to tell apart in a shared rack.
- Handling: keep the dust caps on until you plug in, clean the end faces before mating, and route the cable without sharp bends or tight ties — most "dead" fibre links are a dirty connector or a kinked cord, not a faulty cable.
What Will Not Work
- Multimode SR/SX transceivers (850 nm) — they need OM3/OM4 multimode cable; single-mode cable will not give a reliable link with them.
- APC ports or couplers (green, 8° angled) — UPC and APC end faces must never be mated: it adds heavy loss and can damage both end faces.
- Two LC ports or two SC ports — this cord joins one LC port to one SC port; for same-connector links choose an LC-LC or SC-SC cord.
- Copper RJ45 ports — fibre needs an optical transceiver or a media converter at each end.

Frequently Asked Questions
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
A fibre cord has to match your equipment on three things: fibre type (single-mode OS2), connector (LC / SC) and polish (UPC/PC). Before ordering, read the label on the SFP module (e.g. LR or LX) in your switch with SFP ports. Measure the route with some slack: fibre should never be pulled tight or bent sharply.
✓ Buy it if your optics are single-mode LR/LX with LC and SC ports and the route is about 3 m.
✕ Skip it if your transceivers are multimode (SR/SX), or one end needs a different connector.
→ Also consider the multimode OM4 version for SR optics, or a different length of the same cord.
Not sure which cord you need? Send us the model of your switch, SFP module or patch panel and we will check fibre type, connector and polish before you order.
