The equip 208014 is a 12-port Cat 6 shielded 10-inch 1U patch panel in light grey (RAL 7035). It mounts in a 10-inch rack or cabinet and takes up 1U. Installation cable is punched down on the back with an LSA or 110 punch-down tool, and the 12 RJ45 sockets on the front take ordinary patch cords, rated for Gigabit Ethernet (1000Base-T). In practice it gives the cables coming from wall outlets and ceilings a fixed, labelled end point next to your switch, so that moves and changes are made with short patch cords at the panel instead of re-terminating installation cable.
Compatibility — check before buying:
This panel is 10-inch (254 mm) wide — it is not for 19-inch racks. The ports are fixed and terminated with an LSA or 110 punch-down tool, which is not in the box. As a shielded panel it only gives its full screening with shielded cable and a grounded rack or earth point; equip does not list an earthing wire.
