The equip 125296 is a 25-port Cat 3 unshielded 19-inch 1U ISDN patch panel in light grey (RAL 7035). It mounts in a 19-inch rack, takes up 1U and is built for telephone and ISDN distribution rather than Ethernet data. Installation cable is punched down on the back with an LSA or 110 punch-down tool, and the 25 RJ45 sockets on the front take ordinary patch cords. In practice it gives the cables coming from wall outlets and ceilings a fixed, labelled end point next to your phone system, so that moves and changes are made with short patch cords at the panel instead of re-terminating installation cable.
Compatibility — check before buying:
This is the light grey model — the same panel in black is 125298. The ports are fixed and terminated with an LSA or 110 punch-down tool, which is not in the box. This is a Cat 3 voice panel: equip describes the 25 ports as Cat 3 RJ45 for telephone and ISDN distribution — it is not made for 100 Mbit/s or Gigabit Ethernet data.
