The Equip 156020 is an SC fibre optic connector for multimode fibre with 0.9 mm buffer, sold as a pack of 12 — a termination part for technicians who build their own pigtails, patch cords or panel terminations.

It has a polymer housing with the standard SC push-pull latch and a precision zirconia ceramic ferrule for accurate fibre alignment. Equip lists it as not tool-free: the fibre has to be prepared and terminated with the proper fibre tools.

• Used by installers to terminate 0.9 mm tight-buffered multimode fibre — for example inside patch panels, splice boxes or when repairing a damaged connector.
• SC is the square push-pull connector found on many patch panels, media converters and older switch modules.
• Beige is the traditional colour for multimode connectors, so the termination is easy to identify in a mixed rack.
• A finished termination should be cleaned and inspected (and ideally measured) before it goes into service.

• Single-mode OS2 fibre — use a single-mode SC connector.
• Fibre with a different buffer or jacket size — this connector is for 0.9 mm buffered fibre (larger 2 mm or 3 mm cords need the matching connector and boot).
• Installation without fibre tools — it is not a tool-free quick connector.
• SFP/SFP+ modules — those use LC, not SC.
