The Equip 156151007 is an LC fibre optic adapter (coupler) for OM3 multimode fibre, sold as a pack of 12, that joins two LC patch cords or mounts in a fibre patch panel or outlet to create an LC connection point.

What It Means in Practice
- A coupler is a passive female-to-female joint: plug an LC patch cord into each side and the two fibres meet face to face inside the alignment sleeve.
- Typical uses: populating a fibre patch panel, extending a too-short LC cord, or creating a demarcation point between building cabling and equipment cords.
- Phosphor bronze sleeves are the usual choice for multimode, where the 50 µm core is forgiving of tiny alignment differences; single-mode links normally use ceramic (zirconia) sleeves.
- Every joint adds a little insertion loss, so plan short multimode links with as few couplers as possible.
- Pack of 12 — enough to equip a small panel or keep spares in the rack.
What Will Not Work
- Single-mode OS2 links — use a single-mode coupler with a ceramic sleeve; a multimode coupler can add noticeable loss on 9 µm fibre.
- SC, ST or E2000 connectors — this adapter is LC on both sides.
- APC (green, angled) connectors — multimode LC is UPC/PC; never mate UPC with APC.
- It is not a transceiver or media converter: it only joins fibre to fibre, it does not connect fibre to copper RJ45.
