Equip MTP to MTP Trunk Fibre Cable — OM4, 12 Fibres, Type B, 15 m
OM4 · 50/125 µm12 fibres · MTP female ↔ femaleType B polarity15 m · Aqua
The Equip MTP/MTP trunk fibre optic patch cable (25555707) is a pre-terminated OM4 multimode cable, 15 m long, with a 12-fibre MTP/UPC connector at each end in Type B (flipped: fibre 1 to fibre 12) polarity. It carries a full 12-fibre MTP link between panels, cassettes or parallel-optics ports in a data centre or structured-cabling backbone.
Equip’s drawing for this series specifies female (unpinned) MTP connectors on both ends, a 3.0 mm aqua LSZH jacket, 5 cm heat-shrink strain relief and an MTP fibre overcut of 1.0–3.0 µm. Type B trunks are the usual choice for linking two parallel-optics transceivers or two Type B cassettes directly.
Before you order: both ends are female (no pins), so they must mate with male (pinned) MTP ports — such as most MTP/MPO transceivers and pinned cassettes. Two female cords cannot be joined through an MTP adapter. Polarity is Type B (flipped: fibre 1 to fibre 12); if you are mixing with an existing system, send us its polarity method and we will check.
What's in the Box
- 1 × MTP/MTP trunk fibre optic patch cable, 15 m, factory-terminated
- MTP adapters, cassettes and cleaning tools are not included
What It Means in Practice
- One cable replaces six duplex patch leads: all 12 fibres travel in one 3.0 mm cable, which keeps high-density racks tidy.
- OM4 50/125 µm is the current high-bandwidth multimode grade for short-reach data-centre links.
- Type B trunks are the usual choice for linking two parallel-optics transceivers or two Type B cassettes directly.
- Female connectors on both ends are the common choice for transceiver-to-transceiver and pinned-cassette links.
What Will Not Work
- Single-mode (OS2) MTP ports or cassettes — this is OM4 multimode.
- Female (unpinned) MTP ports: female-to-female will not mate.
- LC or SC equipment directly — use an MTP cassette or an MTP breakout cord.
- A system that needs a different polarity type without a matching cassette or patch cord.

Frequently Asked Questions
Type A or Type B — which do I need?
It depends on your cassettes and transceivers. As a rule, Type B links two parallel-optics transceivers directly; Type A is used with polarity-managing cassettes. Tell us your equipment and we will confirm.
Can I extend it?
Only through a male (pinned) MTP component — two female cords cannot be joined with a plain adapter. A longer trunk is usually the cleaner solution.
How should I handle it?
Keep the dust caps on until mating, inspect and clean the MTP face, and avoid tight bends near the connectors.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
MTP trunks save a lot of rack space, but they only work when gender, polarity and fibre count line up across the whole link. This cable is 12-fibre, female-female, Type B — check those three against your ports, or send us the models and we will do it. For duplex patching, see our
fibre and network cables.
✓ Buy it if you need a 12-fibre OM4 MTP-to-MTP Type B trunk of 15 m between pinned ports.
✕ Skip it if your ports are female, single-mode, or need a different polarity.
→ Also consider Equip MTP/MTP OM4 Type A trunks or MTP/SC OM4 breakout cords.
Not sure it fits your setup? Send us the model of your rack, switch or device and we will check compatibility before you order.
