The Equip 252333 is a 3 m duplex OS2 single-mode fiber optic patch cable with ST connectors on one end and SC on the other, built on 9/125 µm fiber with ceramic ferrules and an LSZH jacket — for bridging legacy ST equipment or panels to SC ports.

OS2 is single-mode fiber: a 9 µm core that carries light over long distances, normally with 1310 nm or 1550 nm transceivers (LX/LR-type optics). It works only with single-mode optics and single-mode infrastructure — the yellow jacket is the usual visual cue.

Connectors: ST (round bayonet twist-lock — legacy equipment and older patch panels) and SC (square push-pull — common on media converters, older switches and SC panels/outlets).

Before you order: Single-mode only — the transceivers at both ends and any patch panel in the link must be single-mode (OS1/OS2, 9/125 µm). Check that the ports are ST and SC.

  • Single-fiber BiDi transceivers or simplex-only ports — this is a duplex (two-fiber) cable.
  • LC ports — this cable is ST to SC; check the port at both ends before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use it with a multimode (SR) SFP module?
No. The fiber type of the cable must match the transceiver: this single-mode cable needs single-mode optics such as LX or LR.
The link does not come up — what should I check?
First polarity: in a duplex link the transmit fiber at one end must reach the receive port at the other. Then confirm both transceivers are the same type and that the connector end faces are clean — dust is the most common cause of a weak or dead fiber link.
Is 3 m the right length?
Measure the real route including slack for cable management. Too short strains the connectors; extra fiber should be coiled loosely, never kinked or pulled tight. We can source other lengths of the same cable — just ask.
