The Equip 252237 is a 15 m duplex OS2 single-mode fibre optic patch cable (9/125 µm) with ST on one end and ST on the other, for single-mode optics such as 1000BASE-LX or 10GBASE-LR SFP/SFP+ transceivers, media converters and single-mode patch panels.
The yellow jacket is LSZH (low smoke, zero halogen). Every cable is tested and shipped with its own measurement report. OS2 is the current single-mode grade (9/125 µm). It is the choice for runs between floors or buildings, carrier and FTTH connections, and any LX/LR/ER-type optics; the reach is set by the transceiver, not by this short patch cord.
Before you order: This is single-mode (OS2) fibre. It works only with single-mode transceivers (LX, LR, ER and similar) — not with multimode SR optics. Check the label on your SFP module before ordering. The manufacturer does not publish the polish type; use it with UPC (blue) ports, not green APC ones.

What It Means in Practice
- Duplex = two fibres, one to transmit and one to receive. A standard SFP/SFP+ module uses both, so one duplex cable makes one link.
- Same connector on both ends: ST (round bayonet) — found on older patch panels and legacy equipment.
- Jacket colour follows the usual convention (yellow single-mode, aqua OM3, violet OM4, lime OM5), so the cable is easy to identify later in the rack.
What Will Not Work
- Multimode SR transceivers or multimode (aqua/violet/lime) cabling — mixing single-mode and multimode fails or gives an unstable link.
- APC (green) ports — many FTTH/GPON ONTs and fibre wall outlets use SC/APC.
- Ports other than ST (e.g. LC, SC, MPO/MTP) — use the matching cable or a suitable coupler.
- It is a passive cable: it does not turn an RJ45 copper port into fibre — that needs an SFP module or a media converter.
