Equip 12888207 USB-C to USB-B Cable — 480 Mbit/s, 1 m
USB 2.0480 Mbit/sData cable1 m
The Equip 12888207 is a 1 m USB-C to USB-B cable with up to 480 Mbit/s (USB 2.0 Hi-Speed) data transfer, made for connecting a USB-B printer, scanner, audio interface or other USB-B peripheral to a laptop or desktop that only has USB-C ports.
Printers, scanners, label printers and most audio/MIDI interfaces work at USB 2.0 speed, so 480 Mbit/s is all they need — print jobs and scans are limited by the device, not by the cable.
Check the printer end before ordering: USB-B is the square-ish plug found on most printers, scanners, label printers and many audio/MIDI devices. It is not the same as the small Micro-USB or the wider USB 3.0 B plug.
What's in the Box
- 1 × Equip USB 2.0 C to B cable, 1.0 m
What It Means in Practice
- Length 1 m: the everyday desk length — reaches from a computer or charger to a device on the same desk or bedside table.
- USB 2.0 is the native speed of virtually every USB-B printer and scanner, so the cable does not slow the device down.
- Plug-and-play at cable level on Windows, macOS, ChromeOS and Linux — only the device driver is needed.
What Will Not Work
- Not for USB-A computers: the computer end is USB-C only.
- Not a USB 3 Micro-B or USB-B 3.0 cable — it will not fit the wider blue USB 3.0 B socket found on some external drives and docks.
- It does not charge laptops and carries no video.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a driver?
No driver for the cable itself — it is passive. Install the printer or scanner driver from its manufacturer as usual.
Will it work with a Mac or an iPad?
Yes, with any Mac or iPad with a USB-C port, provided the printer or scanner supports macOS or iPadOS.
Can I print from a USB-C phone or tablet with it?
Only if the phone or tablet and the printer support USB printing (many Android devices and iPads do with the right app). For most phones, Wi-Fi printing is simpler.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
One metre is the practical length for a printer or scanner beside the desk, and it plugs straight into a USB-C laptop — no USB-A adapter hanging off the port. Equip double-shields it, which helps with long print jobs and scans. If you need USB-A ports too, see our
docking stations.
✓ Buy it if you connect a USB-B printer, scanner or MIDI/audio device to a USB-C laptop or desktop.
✕ Skip it if your computer only has USB-A — a standard USB-A to USB-B cable is what you need.
→ Also consider A 2 m USB-C to USB-B cable if the printer is further away; a USB-C hub if you also need USB-A ports.
