Evoluent VerticalMouse 4 Wireless — Right-Handed Vertical Mouse

Fully vertical handshake gripHands 17.8 cm and longer6 buttons, 4 speeds to 2600 DPI2.4 GHz USB receiver, 1 x AA

The Evoluent VerticalMouse 4 is the classic vertical mouse that most ergonomic advice is written about: the patented upright shape holds the right hand in a handshake position so the forearm bones stop crossing, with a thumb rest, a wide lower lip and grooved buttons under the fingers. This is the regular wireless edition for hands 17.8 cm and longer, on a 2.4 GHz USB receiver, Evoluent part number VM4RW, EAN 0852153014416. Six buttons, four pointer speeds from 800 to 2600 DPI with indicator lights, and one AA battery that lasts about three months. Measure your hand and tell us which computer it is for, and we will confirm the right VerticalMouse 4.

Compatibility — check before buying:
Connects only through the 2.4 GHz USB-A receiver — no Bluetooth; a USB-C-only laptop needs an adapter. Evoluent Mouse Manager for button programming runs on Windows; on macOS the buttons keep fixed functions. Right-handed only (Evoluent makes a separate left-handed VerticalMouse 4). Size: the regular model is for hands 17.8 cm (7 in) or longer, the Small for hands up to 17.8 cm — the two look identical in photos. Power is one AA alkaline, not rechargeable. Evoluent and BakkerElkhuizen publish no weight or dimensions. The newer VerticalMouse D adds a third size and a 3200 DPI top speed; the 4 remains the model with a Bluetooth option.

Best For

✓ RSI, tendonitis and forearm pain on ergonomic advice
✓ Right-handed users with hands 17.8 cm (7 in) or longer
✓ Office workers who mouse for hours every day
✓ Occupational-health workstation upgrades
✓ Users who prefer a replaceable AA to charging
✓ Desktops with a free USB-A port

Key Features

The upright handshake grip
The VerticalMouse holds the hand fully upright so the forearm bones lie parallel instead of crossed, with a thumb rest and an extended lower lip that keeps the little finger off the desk.

Six buttons, four speeds
Left, middle and right on the finger side, two thumb buttons and a wheel click. A switch steps the optical sensor through 800, 1300, 1800 and 2600 DPI, with indicator lights.

Simple receiver, months of AA
A 2.4 GHz USB-A receiver that needs no pairing and one AA alkaline that runs about three months. Nothing to charge.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which size do I need?
Measure from the wrist crease to the tip of the middle finger: up to 17.8 cm is Small, 17.8 cm and over is the regular model. Send us the number and we will confirm.
Is there a left-handed version?
Yes, Evoluent makes a left-handed VerticalMouse 4; this article is right-handed. Ask us.
VerticalMouse 4 or VerticalMouse D?
The D is the newer model with three sizes and 3200 DPI; the 4 has the Bluetooth (Mac) option and the small/regular split. Both share the six-button vertical shape and AA power.
How long does it take to get used to?
A few days to a week. Start at the lowest speed and rest the thumb on its rest; the wrist stops twisting immediately.
Singular Expert Insight

The VerticalMouse 4 is the proven vertical shape; the only decision is the size, and the regular edition fits most adult hands. If you need Bluetooth on Windows or a rechargeable battery, the HP 925 in our wireless mice range is the mainstream alternative — ask us to match one to your hand.

Buyer’s Guide

Buy it if

You are right-handed with a hand 17.8 cm (7 in) or longer, mouse all day and want the proven Evoluent vertical shape with a replaceable AA.

Skip it if

Your hand falls in the other size, you are left-handed, or you need Bluetooth or USB-C.

Also consider

The Small VerticalMouse 4 for hands under 17.8 cm, the Bluetooth edition for Mac, or the VerticalMouse D for 3200 DPI.
