Fellowes Penguin Ambidextrous Vertical Mouse — Large, Wireless
Fully upright handshake gripLeft or right hand: flip the bow-tie switchLarge size2.4 GHz receiver, rechargeable
The Fellowes Penguin is the vertical mouse that does not make you choose a hand: the upright body stands the hand in a handshake position, and a rocker “bow-tie” switch on top swaps the left and right buttons so the same mouse serves a left-handed user or lets anyone alternate hands to rest one side. This is the wireless Large size, part number 9894501, EAN 0043859735914, with a laser sensor, a DPI button underneath, a scroll wheel with click-in auto-scroll, a 2.4 GHz micro receiver that stores under the mouse and a built-in rechargeable battery. Fellowes sells it in three sizes because the support only works when the size matches the hand — Large is for hands of about 18 cm and longer from wrist crease to fingertip. Measure and tell us, and we will confirm the size before you order.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Sizing decides everything: Fellowes sells the Penguin wireless as Small (9894901), Medium (9894701) and Large (9894501), plus wired versions, and they look the same in photos. Large suits hands of about 18 cm and over measured from the wrist crease to the tip of the middle finger. Wireless is through the included 2.4 GHz USB-A receiver only — no Bluetooth; a USB-C-only laptop needs an adapter. Fellowes publishes the DPI range for the small guide as 400 to 1200; for the larger sizes the published guide does not state the steps, so we quote none. Fellowes publishes no weight or dimensions. Do not confuse this generation with the newer Penguin 3-in-1, which adds Bluetooth and a different article number. A vertical mouse takes about a week to get used to.

Key Features
Upright grip, either hand
The Penguin stands the hand upright so the forearm bones stay parallel, and the bow-tie rocker switch on top swaps the button functions between left and right hand in a second.
Laser sensor, DPI underneath
A laser sensor with a DPI button on the base, a scroll wheel with click-in auto-scroll and an on/off switch. Plug and play, no software.
Receiver stored, battery built in
The 2.4 GHz micro receiver clips under the mouse so it is never lost, and the built-in rechargeable battery charges over the included cable.

Frequently Asked Questions
Which size do I need?
Measure from the wrist crease to the tip of the middle finger: up to about 16 cm Small, 16 to 18 cm Medium, 18 cm and over Large. Send us the measurement and we will confirm.
Can a left-handed person use it?
Yes — flip the bow-tie switch on top and the buttons swap. That is the Penguin’s whole point.
Does it work over Bluetooth?
No, this generation uses the 2.4 GHz USB receiver only. The newer Penguin 3-in-1 adds Bluetooth; ask us.
Does it need software?
No. It is plug and play; DPI is changed with the button on the base.
Singular Expert Insight
The Penguin is the vertical mouse to buy for a shared or left-handed desk: every other upright mouse in this class is handed. Get the size right and it is a very comfortable everyday mouse; if you want a fixed right-handed shape with more buttons, the Evoluent range in our wireless mice goes further. Ask us and we will match the size.
