The freecolor K20745F7 is a remanufactured ink cartridge that replaces the Canon PGI-580XXL PGBK (pigment black, extra-high capacity), holding 25 ml for 690 pages (per freecolor) — for owners of Canon PIXMA TS/TR (580/581) printers who want to cut the cost per page without changing printer.

It is built on a collected original Canon shell that is cleaned, tested and refilled by ARMOR Print Solutions. freecolor is the remanufacturing brand of ARMOR Print Solutions (ARMOR Group), sold across Europe for almost 20 years.

Before you order: This replaces the large PGI-580 black (PGBK) only. The small CLI-581 black (photo black) is a different cartridge in a different slot.

What's in the Box

What It Means in Practice

  • Cost per page drops: the 25 ml cartridge is rated at 690 pages by the manufacturer, measured per freecolor.
  • Installation is the same as with the original: open the cover, take out the empty cartridge, click the new one into the same slot.
  • Your printer settings, drivers and paper stay exactly as they are — nothing to install on the computer.
  • On 580/581 printers the large PGI-580 black is used for documents; photo black and colours come from the separate CLI-581 cartridges.
  • Print a nozzle check after installing: if a colour shows gaps, one cleaning cycle from the printer menu usually clears it — avoid running several in a row, as each one uses ink.
  • Replace only when the printer reports empty, not at the first low-ink warning — the warning appears while there is still ink left to print with.

What Will Not Work

  • The CLI-581 BK photo-black slot — different size and ink.
  • PIXMA printers using PGI-570/CLI-571 or PGI-550/CLI-551 — similar looking, but they do not fit.
  • Colour printing on its own — cyan, magenta, yellow and photo black are separate CLI-581 cartridges.

The printer says the cartridge is not recognised — what should I do?
Take it out, make sure all protective tape and the clip (if any) are removed, wipe the contacts with a dry lint-free cloth and click it back in firmly. If the message stays, tell us the printer model and the exact message — the claim goes through us.
Will it print like the original?
freecolor states OEM-equivalent performance for its remanufactured cartridges. For everyday office documents you should not see a difference; if you see streaks, run one head-cleaning cycle from the printer menu before anything else.
Can I mix it with original cartridges?
Yes. Each colour slot works independently, so you can run this cartridge next to original Canon cartridges in the other slots.
How should I store a spare cartridge?
Keep it sealed in its original packaging, at room temperature and away from direct sunlight, and use it within the date printed on the pack. Do not remove the protective tape until you install it.
