Gembird KBS-W-01 — Wireless Desktop Set, US International, Black
One nano receiver10 m range1000 dpi mouseBatteries included
The Gembird KBS-W-01 is a complete wireless desk set, and unusually for its price Gembird publishes the numbers you would actually want to check. One nano USB receiver — just 18 × 14 × 7 mm and 1.4 g — covers both devices over 2.4 GHz at a working distance of up to 10 m. The keyboard is full size at 420 × 130 × 28 mm and 390 g, running from a single AA cell at up to 8 mA; the mouse is a compact 1000 dpi optical shape, 99 × 62 × 35 mm and just 55 g, on two AAA cells at up to 6.6 mA. Gembird publishes the runtime as 150 working hours for the keyboard and 100 for the mouse. In the box: keyboard, mouse, nano receiver, batteries and the user manual.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Layout: US International QWERTY is the layout most people in Cyprus type on: wide Enter key, @ above 2. If your current keyboard is UK layout, the Enter key changes shape and a few symbols move, but letters and numbers are identical. Both devices run through the supplied 2.4 GHz nano receiver in a free USB-A port — a USB-C-only laptop needs an adapter or a dock. There is no Bluetooth, so the set cannot be paired to a tablet or a phone, and it will not work in the BIOS before the operating system loads. There is no backlight and no palm rest. Gembird lists Windows 7 through 11 only. One honest caveat: Gembird contradicts itself on the mouse button count — its features list says four buttons and its own specification table says three — so we do not print a number. And note the battery life is quoted in working hours, not months: 150 hours is roughly a working month of heavy use, so this is a set you will change batteries in, not one you forget about for three years.

Key Features
Numbers actually published
Range, receiver size, current draw and runtime in hours — Gembird publishes figures that most brands at this price leave blank.
A genuinely tiny receiver
18 × 14 × 7 mm and 1.4 g: it stays in the laptop port without catching on anything.
A very light mouse
55 g is unusually light for a bundled mouse, which suits a small hand or a long day.
Batteries in the box
One AA for the keyboard and two AAA for the mouse, included, plus the user manual.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long do the batteries really last?
Gembird publishes 150 working hours for the keyboard and 100 for the mouse — hours of use, not months of calendar time. Budget for changing them a few times a year on a busy desk.
Is the mouse three buttons or four?
Gembird’s own page says both, in two different places. We will not print a number we cannot stand behind — ask us and we will check a unit before you order.
Can I pair it with a tablet?
No. There is no Bluetooth; it works only through the supplied 2.4 GHz nano receiver in a USB-A port.
Which layout is this set?
This one is US International. Gembird publishes KBS-W-01 as a single layout SKU, though other Gembird desktop sets come in Cyrillic versions as well.
Singular Expert Insight
A tidy, honest budget set — and the published range, receiver size and runtime put it ahead of rivals that publish nothing. Just read the runtime as hours, not years. See our
