GIGABYTE X870 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 — AMD X870 ATX with Two USB4 Ports and Three PCIe 5.0 M.2 Slots
AMD X870 / Socket AM52 x USB4 40 Gbps Type-C3 x PCIe 5.0 M.2 slotsWi-Fi 7 + Realtek ALC1220
The GIGABYTE X870 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 is a full-size ATX motherboard on the AMD X870 chipset for Socket AM5, and its storage layout is exceptional for the price: four M.2 slots, three of them PCIe 5.0 x4 from the CPU. It carries the part number X870 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 (EAN 4719331864811) and supports AMD Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 Series processors, with four DDR5 DIMM slots taking up to 256 GB at a rated DDR5-8200 when overclocked. Two USB4 Type-C ports at 40 Gbps double as DisplayPort outputs capable of 3840 x 2160 at 240 Hz, and with the rear HDMI 2.1 and a front HDMI header the board drives up to four displays. Audio is a Realtek ALC1220 with optical S/PDIF out, and networking is Realtek 2.5GbE plus Wi-Fi 7 with Bluetooth 5.4. Typically in stock with fast delivery across Cyprus.
Compatibility — check before buying:
The three PCIe 5.0 M.2 slots share CPU lanes with the graphics slot: the x16 slot drops from PCIe 5.0 x16 to x8 when M2B_CPU or M2C_CPU is populated. That is a real trade-off — fill all three Gen 5 slots and your graphics card runs at Gen 5 x8, which is still ample bandwidth today but worth knowing. M2B_CPU and M2C_CPU also only run at PCIe 5.0 with Ryzen 9000 and 7000 Series processors. The chipset slot M2D_SB is PCIe 4.0 x4. Expansion beyond graphics is one PCIe 4.0 x4 and one PCIe 3.0 x2, both in x16-length slots. The Wi-Fi module is a MediaTek MT7925 on PCB rev. 1.0 or a Realtek RTL8922AE on rev. 1.1 — check the board label. Socket AM5 means DDR5 only. The front HDMI header is HDMI 1.4 and limited to 1920 x 1080 at 30 Hz, so it is for a secondary or utility display, not a main monitor. Full ATX at 30.5 x 24.4 cm.
Best For
✓ Builds running three PCIe 5.0 NVMe drives at once
✓ Creators using USB4 docks or fast external SSDs
✓ Ryzen 9000 systems that want quad display output
✓ Users who plug headphones directly into the board
✓ Homes with a Wi-Fi 7 router on the 6 GHz band
✓ Workstations planning a 256 GB DDR5 upgrade path
Key Features
Four M.2 slots, three of them PCIe 5.0
M2A_CPU, M2B_CPU and M2C_CPU all run PCIe 5.0 x4 from the processor with Ryzen 9000 and 7000 Series chips, and M2D_SB adds a PCIe 4.0 x4 slot from the chipset. Three Gen 5 slots on a non-flagship board is rare, and it is the strongest single reason to choose this board.
Two USB4 ports at 40 Gbps with 4K 240 Hz display out
Both rear USB4 Type-C ports run at 40 Gbps and carry DisplayPort at up to 3840 x 2160 at 240 Hz. Combined with the rear HDMI 2.1 and a front HDMI header, the board supports four simultaneous displays from a processor with integrated graphics.
Realtek ALC1220 audio with optical out
GIGABYTE fits an ALC1220 codec with 7.1-channel support and an optical S/PDIF output — a step above the ALC897 that dominates mainstream boards, and useful if you drive headphones from the rear panel or feed a receiver over optical.
Wi-Fi 7 with 2.5GbE and RAID 5
A Wi-Fi 7 module covers 2.4, 5 and 6 GHz with 160 MHz channels and Bluetooth 5.4, and a Realtek 2.5GbE controller handles wired networking. The four SATA 6 Gb/s ports support RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10.

Singular Expert Insight
Three PCIe 5.0 M.2 slots and two USB4 ports on an ELITE-tier board is a lot of connectivity for the money, and it makes this a strong choice for anyone whose bottleneck is storage or external devices rather than the graphics card. The lane-sharing is the honest caveat: fill the Gen 5 slots and the graphics slot halves to x8. That costs almost nothing in practice today, but you should decide deliberately rather than discover it later. The ALC1220 codec is another real upgrade over the ALC897 most boards use. Where this loses to X870E boards is the total PCIe lane budget — the secondary slots here are modest. Pair it with a card from our graphics cards range and a matched two-module DDR5 memory kit, and put your first Gen 5 SSD in M2A_CPU so the graphics slot stays at x16 until you actually need the second drive.
Buyer's Guide
Buy it if
You want three PCIe 5.0 M.2 slots, two USB4 ports and quad display output on a full ATX AM5 board, with Wi-Fi 7, 2.5GbE and a proper ALC1220 audio codec.
Skip it if
You need the graphics slot locked at PCIe 5.0 x16 while running several Gen 5 drives, you want several full-bandwidth expansion slots, or you need 5Gb or 10Gb wired networking.
