The Good Connections LW-S910LASA is a 10 m simplex OS2 singlemode fibre patch cable with LC/APC on one end and SC/APC on the other, made for singlemode links between switches, SFP/SFP+ optics, patch panels and media converters.
The cable uses an LSZH jacket with a 2.0 mm outer diameter in yellow, the standard colour for singlemode, so it is easy to tell apart in a busy rack. Every cable is tested after assembly and ships with its own measurement report.
Before you order: APC connectors (green, 8° angled end-face) only mate with APC ports and APC couplers. Plugging an APC connector into a UPC port (blue) causes high loss and can damage both end-faces — check that both devices or panels are APC before ordering.

What It Means in Practice
- One fibre only: suited to single-fibre (BiDi) optics, PON equipment and splitter/panel patching, not to standard two-fibre SFP links.
- At 10 m it reaches between neighbouring racks or across a server room; for building backbones use installation cable and patch panels instead.
- Singlemode OS2 is the right choice for 1310/1550 nm optics (1000BASE-LX, 10GBASE-LR and similar) and for links that will be extended later over long distances.
- Respect the minimum bend radius (15 mm): route the cable in gentle loops and do not pinch it in rack doors or cable ties.
- Keep the connectors covered until the moment of connection and clean the end-faces if a link shows high loss — dirt is the most common cause.
What Will Not Work
- Multimode SR/SX transceivers (850 nm) — they need OM3/OM4/OM5 cable.
- UPC ports, UPC couplers or standard SFP modules with UPC receptacles — APC and UPC must never be mated.
- Ports of another connector type (ST, MPO/MTP, E2000) without the right hybrid cable or adapter.
- Standard two-fibre (duplex) SFP/SFP+ links — one fibre cannot carry both directions unless the optics are BiDi.
- Permanent in-wall or outdoor installation — this is a patch cable for racks, desks and equipment rooms.

Singlemode OS2 is the safe default for new fibre links: it handles 1G to 100G and long distances with the right optics. Match three things before ordering: fibre type (OS2), connector at each end (LC/APC / SC/APC) and polish (APC). Typical partners are switches with SFP/SFP+ ports and the matching transceivers.
✓ Buy it if your ports are LC on one side and SC on the other and the link is OS2 with APC polish.
✕ Skip it if your equipment has UPC (blue) ports — order the UPC version instead.
→ Also consider the same cable in other lengths, or the LC-LC version if both ends are LC, or a duplex version for standard SFP links.
