HERMA 4222 — Silver Polyester Rating Plate Labels, 63.5 x 29.6 mm
27 labels per A4 sheet675 labelsMono laser · Copier-40 °C to +150 °C
The HERMA 4222 is a pack of 25 A4 sheets of silver, matt polyester rating plate labels, 63.5 x 29.6 mm with rounded corners — 675 weatherproof, tear-resistant labels with extremely strong adhesion, printed on a black-and-white laser printer or copier.
At 63.5 x 29.6 mm this is a full type-plate size: room for manufacturer, model, serial number, ratings and a barcode or QR code on machines, cabinets and equipment.
Before you order: Mono laser printers and copiers only. HERMA states these labels are not suitable for inkjet printers, colour laser printers or colour copiers — check what is in your office before ordering. Note: this is the 25-sheet pack (675 labels) — make sure you are not comparing it with a smaller 10-sheet pack of the same size.
What's in the Box
- 25 A4 sheets with 27 self-adhesive labels each — 675 labels
- Silver matt polyester film with a brushed stainless-steel look, extremely strong adhesive, rounded corners
- HERMA retail pack — no software included
What It Means in Practice
- Polyester film instead of paper: HERMA rates it weatherproof, UV and ageing resistant, oil and dirt-repellent, tear-resistant and wipeable with a damp cloth.
- Service temperature -40 °C to +150 °C, so the label stays readable on equipment that runs warm or sits outdoors.
- The extremely strong adhesive holds even on rough or critical surfaces where paper labels lift.
- You print your own serial numbers, asset tags and type plates in-house instead of ordering engraved metal plates.
- Typical uses at this size: machine and equipment type plates, inventory and property labels, control cabinets and outdoor installations.
What Will Not Work
- Inkjet printers, colour laser printers and colour copiers — HERMA excludes them for this film. Use a black-and-white laser or copier.
- Not removable: once applied, the label is meant to stay — it is not designed to come off cleanly.
- Engraved or anodised metal plates for legal machine marking are a different product; this is a printed film label.
- Thermal-transfer label printers and roll label printers cannot use A4 sheets.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Silver polyester rating plates give you the look of a metal type plate with the flexibility of printing serial numbers, asset tags and QR codes yourself. The catch is the printer: mono laser or copier only. If yours is an inkjet or colour laser, ask us for an alternative. More options in our labels and label rolls range.
✓ Buy it if you label machines, assets or components and have a black-and-white laser printer or copier.
✕ Skip it if you only have an inkjet or colour laser printer, or you need labels that come off again.
→ Also consider HERMA 4221 (45.7 x 21.2 mm, 48 per sheet) for smaller asset tags.
Not sure which labels suit your printer or job? Send us your printer model and what you are labelling, and we will check it before you order.
