The HPE 455883-B21 is HPE's BladeSystem c-Class 10Gb SFP+ SR transceiver: a 10GBASE-SR optic at 850 nm with a duplex LC connector for multimode fibre, rated up to 300 m on OM3. It belongs to HPE's server-side transceiver range and is listed in the HPE Compute Transceiver and Cable Hardware Matrix for HPE ProLiant networking adapters and HPE BladeSystem/Virtual Connect environments.
It is the part to order when an HPE server SFP+ adapter or c-Class interconnect needs a short-reach 10G fibre link to the network. It is very low power (under 0.8 W) and physically a standard SFP+ module.
Before you order: This is an HPE server-side optic. HPE states that its server transceivers are not the same parts as HPE Aruba Networking switch transceivers and that server parts have not been validated in Aruba switches — for the switch end, use an Aruba optic such as J9150D. Check the HPE transceiver matrix for your exact adapter; some NVIDIA/Mellanox adapters follow NVIDIA's own optics policy.
