The HP 300 Tri-color Original Ink Cartridge (CC643EE) is a genuine HP tri-color (cyan, magenta and yellow in one cartridge) cartridge for the printers that take HP 300 cartridges (HP tests the yield in the Deskjet D2560). HP rates it at approximately 165 pages under ISO/IEC 24711 or HP testing methodology, tested in the HP Deskjet D2560.
It suits home users, students and small offices who print letters, school work, tickets and the occasional colour page, and want an original cartridge that the printer recognises straight away.
Before you order: HP 300 printers take two cartridges: HP 300 Black and HP 300 Tri-color. HP 301 cartridges look almost identical but are a different number and will not work in HP 300 printers. Note: the HP 300 Black (CC640EE) is a separate cartridge.

What It Means in Practice
- The 165-page figure comes from a standard test with continuous printing of a mixed document set. Plain text documents usually go further; full-page colour, photos and many short print jobs use more ink.
- In a tri-colour cartridge the three colours share one body. When one colour runs dry the whole cartridge has to be replaced, even if the other two still have ink.
- Keep the cartridge sealed in its pack until you install it, store it at room temperature, and install it promptly once opened so the ink does not dry at the nozzles.
- If you print a lot, compare with the higher-capacity version: the HP 300 Black (CC640EE) is a separate cartridge.
- A low-ink warning is an early alert: you can usually keep printing for a while, so order the replacement when it appears instead of waiting for the cartridge to run completely empty.
- After installing, print the printer's print-quality or test page once to confirm every colour is printing cleanly before a long or important job.
What Will Not Work
- Printers that use HP 301 cartridges — the shape and contacts are different, so it will not fit or will not be recognised.
- Refill kits or ink bottles: this is a sealed original cartridge, not an ink tank system.
