HP 625 FHD Webcam — 4 MP with Windows Hello
1080p at 30 fps66° / 78° / 92°Windows HelloZoom Certified
The HP 625 is a 4 megapixel Full HD webcam with autofocus, three selectable fields of view, Windows Hello face sign-in and two noise-reducing microphones. It swivels 360 degrees and tilts 90 degrees down, is configured through Poly Lens, and ships with a travel pouch and an attachable privacy cap. It is Zoom Certified.
Compatibility — check before buying:
A few things to know. It needs a USB 3.0 Type-A port — HP publishes that as the minimum requirement, and the 1.5 m cable is fixed. HP lists Windows 10 and 11 only, with no macOS support published, even though the cheaper HP 435 does list macOS and Chrome OS. The privacy cap is a separate attachable part, not a slider built into the body, so it can be lost. HP’s own two documents disagree on two points: digital zoom is published as 4x on the specification page and 5x on the media spec sheet, and the UK shop page lists a 1440p QHD mode at 30 fps that the media spec sheet does not. Note finally that HP’s own spec sheet says the HP 620 and HP 625 differ only in product number and packaging — identical optics, identical features — so do not pay a premium for one over the other. HP’s warranty on this product is one year, shorter than the three years Dell and Lenovo give on comparable cameras.
Best For
✓ Windows desktops and laptops that need face sign-in
✓ Switching between a tight frame and a 92 degree view for two people
✓ Zoom desks — it is Zoom Certified
✓ People who carry a camera between desks — a travel pouch is included
✓ Fleets managed with Poly Lens
Key Features
Windows Hello face sign-in
HP publishes Windows Hello support, so a desktop with no camera of its own gains password-free login. That is the main reason to choose this over a cheaper HP webcam.
Three fields of view
66, 78 or 92 degrees, selectable. Tight on one face or wide enough for a colleague beside you, without moving the camera.
Autofocus with automatic lighting correction
The lens tracks you as you move, and automatic backlight and lighting correction meter for your face rather than the window behind it.
A pouch and a cap in the box
HP ships a travel pouch and an attachable privacy cap alongside the camera — small things, but they are the two accessories people otherwise buy separately.

Singular Expert Insight
HP has priced Windows Hello into a mainstream webcam here, and on a desktop that is a genuinely useful thing to buy. The switchable field of view and the pouch are sensible touches too. What holds it back on paper is HP’s own documentation: two conflicting zoom figures, a QHD mode that appears on one page and not another, and a one-year warranty against three years from Dell and Lenovo on comparable cameras. None of that changes how it performs, but it is worth knowing before you compare specs line by line. If face sign-in is not the point, a 2K or 4K camera with a longer warranty will serve better.
Buyer’s Guide
Buy it if
You want Windows Hello face sign-in with switchable framing on a Windows machine with a USB 3.0 port.
Skip it if
Skip it if you need macOS support, a longer manufacturer warranty, a built-in shutter, or 4K.
Also consider
HP 620 for the identical camera in brown-box packaging, or HP 435 if macOS support matters more than Windows Hello.
