HP Series 7 Pro 727pm — 27" 4K Conferencing Monitor with 5MP Webcam & Thunderbolt 4
27" 4K IPS Black5MP IR webcamThunderbolt 4 100WRJ45 + KVM
The HP Series 7 Pro 727pm is a 27-inch 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) IPS Black monitor with a built-in 5MP HDR pop-up webcam, noise-cancelling microphones and Thunderbolt 4 with up to 100W charging, built for hybrid workers who take calls all day from one desk.
IPS Black technology doubles the contrast of a standard IPS panel to 2000:1, so blacks look deeper and text stands out more, while 100% sRGB and 98% Display P3 colour (Pantone Validated, factory calibrated) cover office, design and photo work. The monitor doubles as a docking station: Gigabit RJ45, five 10 Gbps USB-A ports, two USB-C ports and a smart KVM. The camera supports Windows Hello face sign-in, auto framing and background blur, and the four 3W speakers carry DTS Virtual:X sound.
Before you order: Up to 100W charging and full docking need a laptop with Thunderbolt 3/4, USB4 or USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode. Base Apple M1/M2/M3 MacBooks support one external display, so daisy chaining a second monitor from them will not work.

What It Means in Practice
- 4K on 27" gives about 163 ppi — razor-sharp text; at 150% scaling you get the space of a 1440p screen with far more detail.
- Thunderbolt 4 out lets you daisy chain a second 4K monitor from the same laptop connection.
- The smart KVM lets a desktop and a laptop share the keyboard and mouse plugged into the monitor.
- PbP/PiP shows two sources side by side on the one screen.
- The pop-up camera retracts when not in use for privacy; IR sensors allow Windows Hello sign-in.
What Will Not Work
- Webcam and Windows Hello features need a USB/Thunderbolt connection to the computer — HDMI or DisplayPort alone carries only picture.
- 60 Hz maximum: not suited to fast competitive gaming.
- DisplayHDR 400 is entry-level HDR, not a mastering reference.
- Laptops without Thunderbolt/USB-C video get picture over HDMI or DisplayPort, but no charging, LAN or USB hub through the monitor.

Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The 727pm combines three things buyers usually have to choose between: 4K sharpness, IPS Black contrast and a real Thunderbolt 4 dock with 100W charging and LAN. The integrated camera and mics remove clutter for video calls. Need an arm or extra cables? See our
monitor accessories.
✓ Buy it if you want a 4K 27" Thunderbolt monitor that replaces your dock and webcam.
✕ Skip it if you need high refresh for gaming or a hardware-calibrated colour reference.
→ Also consider HP 727pk without camera, or Lenovo ThinkVision P27u-20 for wider Adobe RGB coverage.
