The HP 728 300-ml Matte Black DesignJet Ink Cartridge (F9J68A) is the high-capacity original pigment-ink cartridge for the HP DesignJet T730 and T830 MFP large-format printers. It is aimed at architecture, engineering and construction offices that print line drawings, plans and maps in volume and want fewer cartridge changes.
HP sells the 728 matte black in 40 ml, 130 ml and 300 ml sizes; this is the 300 ml cartridge, the largest of the three.
Before you order: HP 728 inks fit only the DesignJet T730 and T830 family. They do not fit DesignJet printers that use HP 727 (T920, T1500, T2500) or other ink families.

- Matte black is the black used for CAD lines, text and maps on plain and coated papers; it is not the photo black used for glossy media.

- Fit it in the matte black slot; the other colours are separate HP 728 cartridges.

On a T730 or T830 the matte black usually runs out first because plans and drawings are mostly black lines, so the 300 ml size is the economical choice for regular plotting. Check the 728 number before ordering: the T9xx and T1500/T2500 use 727. Browse our original ink cartridges for the other 728 colours.
