The HPE P50311-B21 is the genuine HPE 32GB (1x32GB) Dual Rank x8 DDR5-4800 CAS-40-39-39 EC8 Registered Smart Memory Kit for HPE ProLiant Gen11 servers with 4th Gen AMD EPYC (9004) processors, such as the DL325, DL345 and DL385 Gen11.
HPE lists it among the 4800 MT/s DIMMs supported on 4th Gen AMD EPYC processors. HPE Smart Memory is qualified and tuned for ProLiant, is recognised by iLO as genuine HPE memory, and supports HPE's Advanced ECC memory protection. Use it to expand or replace memory in an AMD Gen11 host while keeping an all-HPE configuration for support.
Before you order: HPE does not support mixing x4 and x8 DIMMs, or 3DS and non-3DS DIMMs, in the same server. This is a dual rank x8 module — if your server already has x4 modules (for example 64GB 2Rx4), choose a matching x4 kit instead. Servers with 5th Gen AMD EPYC (9005) use the DDR5-6400 kits.

- Maximum memory speed is set by the processor and population rules in the server QuickSpecs; 4800 MT/s is the 4th Gen EPYC native speed.
- EPYC 9004 has 12 memory channels per socket — populating all 12 with identical modules gives the full bandwidth these CPUs are designed for.
- Smart Memory is reported in iLO as HPE memory, which keeps support cases simple.
- Keep every module in the server the same organisation (x8) and type (non-3DS RDIMM).
What Will Not Work
- Intel-based ProLiant Gen11 systems unless their QuickSpecs list this kit — check before ordering
- Servers already using x4 or 3DS DDR5 modules — mixing is not supported
- Gen10/Gen10 Plus DDR4 servers and any desktop or workstation using unbuffered memory
- ProLiant ML30/DL20/MicroServer Gen11, which take ECC UDIMMs only
