HPE Aruba Networking 50G SFP56 to SFP56 Direct Attach Copper Cable, 0.65m, for CX 6300 and CX 6400 Switches

The HPE Aruba Networking R0M46A is a 0.65m 50G SFP56-to-SFP56 direct attach copper cable for HPE Aruba Networking CX 6300 and CX 6400 switches, for IT teams stacking CX 6300 switches with VSF or linking SFP56 ports between switches mounted one above the other.

HPE lists the R0M46A in the SFP56 transceiver tables of both the CX 6300 and CX 6400 QuickSpecs. On the CX 6300, HPE notes that its 50G DACs are used for both interconnect and VSF stacking, which is the most common reason customers order this short cable.

• VSF stacking on the CX 6300 uses the SFP56 uplink ports. One R0M46A connects one switch to the next in the stack.
• 0.65m is meant for switches mounted directly above or below each other. If there is a patch panel between them, measure first.
• For a ring topology the last switch connects back to the first, which often needs a longer cable than 0.65m.
• On the CX 6400, HPE lists 50G DACs for high-speed interconnect and VSX between SFP56 ports.
• No separate optics: the connectors are part of the cable, so there is nothing to clean or mismatch.

• It does not stack the CX 6300M S0E91A or S0X44A; HPE states those need a QSFP to SFP56 DAC.
• It does not fit QSFP28 100G ports; for those, HPE lists the R0Z25A 100G DAC.
• It will not span a large gap in the rack or reach the far end of a long ring.
• It is not for Aruba 2930F, 2930M or 3810M stacking, which use their own stacking options.
