Power more PoE devices and add redundancy with the genuine HPE Aruba X372 1050W supply

The HPE Aruba Networking X372 (JL087A) is a 1050W, 54V DC switch power supply for HPE Aruba 2930M and CX 6300M modular switches, for businesses that run PoE phones, access points and cameras and need either more PoE power or a redundant second supply.
This is the 1050W member of HPE's X372 54V family, the supplies that feed the switch and its PoE ports. HPE lists it in the 2930M QuickSpecs for the PoE+ and Smart Rate 2930M models and as a supported PSU for CX 6300M models. The #ACC suffix is HPE's localisation option code for the power cord that comes with the supply.
Before you order: Choose the X372 wattage by PoE load, not by habit. HPE also sells the X372 680W (JL086A) and 1600W (JL670A) versions, plus the X371 250W 12V supply (JL085A), which is meant for non-PoE use. Do not accidentally order the 12V X371 for a PoE switch.
What's in the Box
- 1 x HPE Aruba Networking X372 54VDC 1050W 110-240VAC power supply (JL087A)
- Power cord according to the HPE localisation option (#ACC); tell us if you need a specific plug and we confirm before ordering
- Documentation as supplied by HPE
What It Means in Practice
- The supply slides into the rear power slot of the switch. HPE describes the CX 6300M power supplies as hot swappable, so a second supply can be added or replaced while the switch runs.
- A 2930M or CX 6300M with two power supply slots can run two supplies for redundancy or for a larger total PoE budget.
- HPE's 2930M overview quotes up to 1440W of PoE with redundant dual modular supplies; the exact PoE figure for one 1050W supply is not published, so plan with us if you are close to the limit.
- Input is 110-240V AC. HPE lists 12A at the low end and 5A at the high end for this supply in the CX 6300M tables, which matters when you size a UPS or PDU circuit.
- Use a UPS and PDU outlet rated for the supply; on a busy PoE switch the supply works hard all day.
What Will Not Work
- It does not fit the CX 6300F models: HPE states that fixed-format F models have built-in power supplies.
- It is not for Aruba 5400R zl2 chassis, which use their own zl2 power supplies.
- It will not fit 2930F, 2540 or other fixed switches without power supply slots.
- It is not the 1600W JL670A: if you plan to run many Class 6 or Class 8 PoE devices at full power, the larger supply may be the right choice.
- One supply on its own gives no redundancy; for that you need a second supply in the second slot.
Key Features
1050W at 54V DC
Feeds both the switch electronics and its PoE ports from the same 54V rail, sized for PoE-heavy access switches.
Wide AC input
Accepts 110-240V AC, so the same part works on standard European 230V circuits.
Modular and redundant
Install one supply to run the switch or two for redundancy and more combined power, where the switch has two slots.
Listed by HPE for two families
Appears in the HPE QuickSpecs for the 2930M PoE switches and as a supported PSU for CX 6300M switches.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I mix a 1050W and a 680W supply in the same switch?
HPE lists several X372 supplies as supported per model, but for predictable PoE budgeting we recommend two identical supplies. Tell us your switch and PoE load and we will advise.
Is the 1050W enough for a 48-port PoE+ switch?
It depends on how many devices draw how much power. Send us the list of phones, access points and cameras and we calculate whether one supply, two supplies or the 1600W version fits.
What does #ACC change?
It is the HPE localisation option, which affects the power cord supplied. The supply itself is the same JL087A.
Does the switch come with a power supply?
On the 2930M, HPE states the switch has two power supply slots and supplies are not included, so at least one must be ordered.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
On modular Aruba access switches the power supply decides your real PoE budget. Size it to the devices you will add in the next two to three years, not only today. Two identical supplies give redundancy and headroom. If you are planning a new access layer, see our
network switches.
✓ Buy it if Buy it for a 2930M or CX 6300M that needs a first, second or replacement 54V supply with mid-range PoE power.
✕ Skip it if Skip it for CX 6300F, 5400R zl2 or fixed switches, or if your PoE plan needs the 1600W JL670A.
→ Also consider Consider a second identical supply for redundancy, and spare fan trays for CX 6300M switches.
Not sure which wattage you need? Send us your switch model and PoE device list and we will check before you order.
