The HPE Aruba Networking X414 1U Universal 4-Post Rack Mount Kit (J9583B) lets a 1U Aruba switch be supported at both the front and the rear posts of a 4-post rack or server cabinet, instead of hanging only from its front rack ears.
Aruba's 6000/6100 installation guide names the X410/X414 universal kit (J9583A, J9583B) for installing the 24-port and 48-port switches in 4-post racks, and the distributor listing for this item names the Aruba 2540 24G and 48G. Rear support matters in deep cabinets, in racks that are moved or shipped populated, and wherever a switch would otherwise flex on its front ears.
Before you order: This is a 4-post kit. In a 2-post rack or a wall cabinet with only front rails you do not need it — the switch's own front brackets are enough. The 8- and 12-port Aruba 6000 models are not covered by this kit.

- No change to the switch configuration — installation is purely mechanical.
What Will Not Work
- 2-post racks or wall cabinets with front rails only — use the switch's standard brackets instead.
- Aruba 6000 8-port and 12-port models — they use a different bracket.
- 2U or modular chassis switches (e.g. Aruba 6400, 8400) — they have their own rail kits.
- Do not confuse with the newer HPE Aruba Networking 1U Universal 4-post kit R9F57A.
