The HPE FlexFabric 5710 48XGT 6QS+/2QS28 (JL586A) is a 1U top-of-rack switch with 48 x 1/10GBASE-T copper ports and uplinks of 6 x 40G QSFP+ or 2 x 100G QSFP28 (or 3 x 40G + 1 x 100G). It runs HPE Comware and stacks up to 10 switches with IRF - built for servers and storage with 10G copper NICs.

The chassis ships without power supplies and without fan trays: at least one PSU and four fan trays of the same airflow direction must be ordered with it.

Before you order: order the power supply (e.g. JL592A 450 W front-to-back) and 4 fan trays (JL594A front-to-back or JL595A back-to-front) together with the switch. PSU and fan airflow must match each other and your rack cooling.

  • IRF joins up to 10 switches into one logical device for redundant server dual-homing.
  • Two hot-swap PSU slots; choose 250 W or 450 W AC, or 450 W 48 VDC.

What Will Not Work

  • Powering on out of the box - no PSU or fans are included.
  • PoE - this is a data-centre switch without PoE.
  • Mixed airflow fan trays/PSUs - all must share one direction.
  • SFP/SFP+ fibre downlinks - the 48 access ports are RJ45 copper.
