The HPE Premier Flex QK733A is a 2 m duplex OM4 multimode fibre patch cable with LC connectors on both ends, made for HPE Fibre Channel SAN and Ethernet switches.
The cable uses an OFNR / LSZH jacket in blue, so it is easy to tell apart in a busy rack. HPE lists it as a bend-insensitive OM4 cable (minimum bend radius 7.5 mm) tested and qualified across its Fibre Channel and Ethernet product families.
Before you order: This is a multimode OM4 cable for 850 nm short-wave optics (SW SFP+/SFP28/SFP56 Fibre Channel and SR Ethernet). It will not work with long-wave (LW/LR) singlemode transceivers.

What It Means in Practice
- Two fibres in one cable: one transmits, one receives — the normal setup for SFP, SFP+, SFP28 and most media converters.
- At 2 m it is a rack or desk-side jumper: switch to patch panel, server to top-of-rack switch, or media converter to wall outlet.
- OM4 is laser-optimised 50/125 µm multimode for 850 nm SR optics (10GBASE-SR, 25GBASE-SR, 8/16/32G FC SW).
- Respect the minimum bend radius (7.5 mm (bend-insensitive)): route the cable in gentle loops and do not pinch it in rack doors or cable ties.
- Keep the connectors covered until the moment of connection and clean the end-faces if a link shows high loss — dirt is the most common cause.
What Will Not Work
- Singlemode LR/LX/ER transceivers (1310/1550 nm) — they need OS2 singlemode cable.
- Ports of another connector type (SC, ST, MPO/MTP, E2000) without the right hybrid cable or adapter.
- Permanent in-wall or outdoor installation — this is a patch cable for racks, desks and equipment rooms.
