The i-tec USB-C Metal Hub 6-Port (CAHUBMETAL6LANPD) adds three USB-C and three USB-A ports at 5 Gbps plus a Gigabit Ethernet port to a laptop, tablet or desktop through a single integrated cable. It is aimed at thin laptops with few ports that need a wired network, a mouse, a flash drive and a phone charger at the same time.
A USB-C to USB-A adapter is attached to the cable, so the same hub also works with older laptops and desktops that only have USB-A. When you connect a USB-C charger to the PD input, the hub passes up to 85W to the laptop, so one USB-C port on the laptop handles data, network and charging.
The aluminium body is 161 x 30 x 21 mm and weighs 86 g, small enough for a laptop bag and solid enough for a permanent desk setup.
Before you order: The hub has no video output and no power adapter in the box. For 85W pass-through you need your own USB-C PD charger of at least 100W. i-tec does not publish whether charging and LAN work when using the USB-A adapter — for USB-A hosts, plan on data only and ask us if you need more.

What It Means in Practice
- Wired Gigabit LAN (Realtek RTL8153E) for stable video calls and large uploads where Wi-Fi is weak.
- Six data ports at 5 Gbps: three USB-C and three USB-A for drives, readers, keyboards and mice.
- USB-C PD input (up to 100W) passes up to 85W to the laptop, so you keep charging while using the hub.
- Works on USB-C, USB4 and Thunderbolt 3/4/5 laptops and, via the adapter, on USB-A computers.
- Plug-and-play on Windows 10/11, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, Android and iPadOS.
What Will Not Work
- No HDMI or DisplayPort — this hub does not connect monitors. For screens, choose a docking station.
- No charger included; without a PD charger the laptop runs on its own battery.
- All six ports share the single 5 Gbps upstream link — several fast SSDs at once will slow each other down.
- The PD port is power input only; it does not transfer data.
