It uses DisplayPort Alt Mode with MST rather than DisplayLink, so no software is installed, and the 53 g adapter with its 30 cm integrated cable needs no power supply.
Compatibility Note: Requires a USB-C, USB4 or Thunderbolt 3/4/5 port with DisplayPort Alt Mode. macOS does not support MST, so on a Mac you get one extended display or mirrored screens, not two independent extended monitors.
