The ICY DOCK EZConvert MB882SP-1S-2B is a converter that lets a 2.5-inch SATA drive sit where a 3.5-inch one belongs. What makes it more than a bracket is where the connector ends up: the drive’s SATA port is presented in the standard 3.5-inch position, so the assembly drops into an ordinary internal 3.5-inch bay or into most 3.5-inch hot-swap trays and backplanes and simply works. It is the light-weight version of the EZConvert design, 119 g, with a screw-less mechanism for quick fitting.
Compatibility — check before buying:
No drive is included. This converts the form factor, not the interface — the 2.5-inch drive still needs a SATA data and SATA power connection, or a 3.5-inch backplane to plug into. The height limit is 12.5 mm: a 15 mm 2.5-inch enterprise drive will not fit, and for that you need the EZConvert Lite MB882SP-1S-3B or the full-metal EZConvert Pro MB982SP-1S, both of which take 15 mm. The body is plastic, not metal — that is the difference between this and the Pro version.

The connector lands in the right place
A plain bracket holds a small drive in a big bay and leaves the connector wherever it happens to be. This one places the SATA port at the standard 3.5-inch position, which is why it works with most 3.5-inch hot-swap backplanes and trays rather than only in a bare bay.
Screw-less and quick
ICY DOCK uses a screw-less design for the drive itself, so an SSD goes in and comes out without a screwdriver. Four screws are supplied for fixing the assembly into the bay where that is needed.
Light-weight version of the EZConvert design
At 119 g this is the light version of the family — the same 145 × 101 × 25 mm footprint and the same 12.5 mm drive limit as the heavier MB882SP-1S-1B, in a lighter plastic build. Nothing about the electrical path differs; the choice is build weight and price.

Buy it if
You have a 2.5-inch SATA SSD up to 12.5 mm and a 3.5-inch bay or hot-swap tray to put it in, and you want the connector to land where the backplane expects it rather than dangling on an adapter.
Skip it if
Your drive is 15 mm thick, or the converter will live in a rack and be pulled in and out constantly — the metal EZConvert Pro suits that better. It also adds nothing electrically, so it will not make an old drive faster.
