The ICY BOX IB-HUB801-TB4 turns one Thunderbolt 4 port into three, plus a 10 Gbps USB-A port, and charges the laptop at up to 85 W from its 100 W adapter. It is for a desk where a Thunderbolt SSD, a Thunderbolt monitor and a USB-C dock or second display all need to hang off one cable, with the laptop charged through the same cable.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Displays connect through the Thunderbolt 4 ports — there is no HDMI or DisplayPort socket, so you need USB-C/Thunderbolt monitors or USB-C video adapters. RaidSonic publishes dual 4K 60Hz or single 8K 30Hz; on a Mac the second display depends on the Mac model, since base Apple silicon chips support one external display. Each downstream Thunderbolt port supplies up to 15 W. RaidSonic publishes no warranty term for this model, and the product no longer appears on icybox.de, so ask us to confirm before ordering for a fleet.

This is the affordable way to multiply Thunderbolt ports and charge the laptop at once; against the Club 3D CSV-1580 on this page it gives 85 W to the laptop instead of 60 W, at the cost of a less certain support picture, since RaidSonic no longer lists it. For Thunderbolt 5 and three displays the Club 3D CSV-2563 is the current top. All three sit with the rest of our USB hubs, and a Thunderbolt SSD from our external SSDs is the first thing to plug in.
