Wired Keyboard 600, Designed by Microsoft — made by Incase, UK English
Quiet thin keysMedia shortcutsSpill resistantNo software
This is the keyboard most people still call the Microsoft Wired Keyboard 600 — and it is the same product, now made and supported by Incase under licence as the Incase Designed by Microsoft Wired Keyboard 600 after Microsoft left the PC accessories business. Nothing about the keyboard changed: quiet, responsive, thin-profile keys, a full number pad, a Media Center block with four playback shortcuts, a dedicated calculator key and a Windows start key, and a spill-resistant design. It is wired USB-A, plug and play with no software to install, in Black Translucent, 18 × 6.3 × 1 in, made from PC and HIPS plastics. This is the quiet, unremarkable board that goes on a desk and is still there five years later.
Compatibility — check before buying:
Layout: UK English QWERTY has the tall Enter key, £ on Shift+3, and @ and " swapped compared with US layout. Letters and numbers are identical to US; if you need the US key shapes, ask us for the US International version. It is a wired USB-A keyboard, so there is nothing to charge or pair and it works in the BIOS and in boot menus. There is no wireless option, no backlight and no palm rest. Incase lists Windows 11 and Windows 10, and macOS 15 and macOS 10.15 with some functions limited — the media and calculator keys are Windows features. Two things worth knowing before you order: the support and warranty for this product now sit with Incase, not Microsoft, and neither company publishes a layout for this exact part number, so if the national layout is critical tell us and we will confirm the actual stock before you order. Neither publishes a key count, key travel, key life, weight, cable length or box contents either.

Key Features
The same keyboard, still made
Microsoft left PC accessories; Incase took the designs on under licence, so this long-serving board is still in production and still supported.
Quiet by design
Thin-profile keys tuned to be quiet rather than clicky — the reason this model ended up in so many open-plan offices.
Shortcuts without software
A Media Center block, a calculator key and a Windows start key that all work on plug-in, with nothing to install.
Spill resistant
Built to survive the drink that eventually goes over, which is how most office keyboards actually die.
