Intel Core Ultra 5 250K Plus — 18-core unlocked desktop processor for LGA1851
18 cores (6P + 12E)Up to 5.3 GHzLGA1851DDR5-7200
The Intel Core Ultra 5 250K Plus (BX80768250K) is an unlocked 18-core desktop processor — 6 Performance-cores and 12 Efficient-cores — for LGA1851 motherboards with Intel 800-series chipsets, aimed at gaming and demanding everyday work.
Part of the Core Ultra 200S Plus series, it runs its P-cores up to 5.3 GHz with 30MB of Intel Smart Cache, and adds integrated Intel Graphics and an NPU for on-device AI.
Before you order: Do not confuse it with the Core Ultra 5 245K: the 250K Plus is a newer, separate model with 18 cores. Your 800-series motherboard needs a BIOS with Core Ultra 200S Plus support — check or update before installing.
What's in the Box
- Intel Core Ultra 5 250K Plus processor in retail box
- Intel does not list a cooler for this boxed K processor — plan an LGA1851-compatible cooler
What It Means in Practice
- 18 cores and 18 threads: P-cores handle games and active applications, E-cores take background tasks and multi-threaded work.
- Unlocked multiplier for overclocking on boards that support it.
- DDR5 up to 7200 MT/s in two channels, up to 256GB of memory.
- Integrated Intel Graphics (4 Xe-cores) drives displays without a graphics card — useful for office builds and troubleshooting.
- The built-in NPU (13 TOPS) runs AI features locally in supported applications.
- 125 W base power, up to 159 W turbo: budget for a capable cooler and power supply.
What Will Not Work
- It will not fit LGA1700 motherboards (Intel 600/700-series) — LGA1851 and Intel 800-series only.
- No DDR4 support — DDR5 only.
- Older 800-series BIOS versions may not recognise it until updated.

Frequently Asked Questions
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
The 250K Plus gives LGA1851 builders more cores than the 245K at the Core Ultra 5 level, which makes it the sensible default for a new gaming or workstation-lite build. Pair it with fast DDR5 memory and a cooler rated for its 159 W turbo power, and confirm the motherboard BIOS version before assembly.
✓ Buy it if you are building or upgrading an Intel 800-series (LGA1851) system and want 18 cores with overclocking headroom.
✕ Skip it if your motherboard is LGA1700 or DDR4-based, or your build has no room for a proper cooler.
→ Also consider a Core Ultra 7 processor for heavier multi-threaded workloads.
Tell us your motherboard model and we will confirm BIOS support, memory and cooler choices before you order.
