The Intellinet 561266 is a 2-port Gigabit PoE+ extender repeater that takes power and data from an IEEE 802.3at/af PoE port and passes both on through two PoE outputs, extending a network run by another 100 m without a power socket at the extender point — ideal for IP cameras, access points and VoIP phones beyond the 100 m Ethernet limit.
Placed at the 100 m mark, it regenerates the Ethernet signal and lets you go up to about 200 m from the switch to the device. Because it has two outputs, one long cable run can also feed two devices — for example two cameras on a car park fence or two access points in a warehouse.
Before you order: The input needs an IEEE 802.3at (PoE+) or 802.3af source. Total output is at most 25 W, shared between both ports, and Intellinet does not publish a per-port split — two power-hungry PoE+ devices may exceed it. Passive PoE devices are not supported; non-PoE devices receive data only.

What It Means in Practice
- Install it where the cable reaches about 100 m; each segment can be up to 100 m of Cat5e/Cat6, for roughly 200 m end-to-end.
- Power comes from the PoE switch or injector upstream — no mains socket needed at the extender location.
- Both outputs carry Gigabit data; only devices that request 802.3af/at power get PoE.
- The metal housing has mounting holes on the bottom for wall or ceiling installation.
What Will Not Work
- A non-PoE input: the extender is powered only by PoE.
- Feeding two devices that together need more than 25 W (e.g. two PTZ cameras).
- Passive 24 V PoE devices — only IEEE 802.3af/at PDs are powered.
- Outdoor exposure without an enclosure — operating range is -10 to 45 °C and no IP rating is published.

PoE extenders solve the classic “camera at 150 m” problem without trenching power to the far end. Size the power first: start from a PoE+ (802.3at) switch port, and keep the two devices together under 25 W. For longer distances, fibre with media converters is usually the better plan.
✓ Buy it if you need to reach PoE cameras, access points or phones beyond 100 m and have no power at the midpoint.
✕ Skip it if your devices need more than 25 W combined, or the distance is well beyond 200 m (consider fibre).
