Intellinet 4-Port Gigabit Ultra PoE Extender — one 802.3bt cable in, four PoE+ devices out, 100 m further
802.3bt PoE in4x PoE+ out · 90WGigabit · +100 mNo power supply
The Intellinet 4-Port Gigabit Ultra PoE Extender (561617) is a PoE-powered extender that takes one IEEE 802.3bt (Ultra PoE) cable and turns it into four Gigabit PoE+ ports, each delivering up to 30 W, at up to 100 m from the source. It is built for installers who need to reach a group of IP cameras, access points or VoIP phones beyond the 100 m Ethernet limit without running mains power to the far end.
Inside it behaves as a 5-port Gigabit switch: one PoE IN port feeds the unit and carries the uplink, four PoE OUT ports power and connect the end devices. There is no adapter and no mains socket — everything it needs comes down the network cable.
Before you order: The full 90 W budget across the four outputs needs an 802.3bt source that can supply 90 W on the input port. The extender also accepts 802.3at/af sources, but Intellinet does not publish how much output power remains in that case — plan with an 802.3bt switch or injector.
What's in the Box
- Intellinet 4-Port Gigabit Ultra PoE Extender (561617)
- 4 rubber feet
- Instructions
- No power supply and no network cables — it is powered only from the PoE IN port
What It Means in Practice
- One cable from an 802.3bt switch or injector can power and connect up to four PoE devices up to 200 m from the switch (100 m to the extender + 100 m to each device).
- Each output gives up to 30 W (802.3at/af), so typical fixed cameras, Wi-Fi access points and desk phones are covered; the four outputs share the 90 W total.
- Non-PoE devices can still be plugged into the outputs — they get data only, no power.
- The metal, fanless housing runs silently and can sit in a ceiling void or a small cabinet; it is a desktop-style unit with rubber feet.
What Will Not Work
- It does not pass 802.3bt power onwards: each output is limited to 30 W (802.3at), so 60 W/90 W PTZ cameras, PoE lighting or bt-class devices will not be powered.
- It cannot be powered from a wall adapter — without a PoE source on the IN port it does nothing.
- It does not extend 10G or 2.5G links; the ports are 10/100/1000 Mbps.
- No wall-mount or DIN-rail kit is published for this model.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I power it from a normal PoE+ switch?
It accepts 802.3at/af sources, but the 90 W output budget is only specified with an 802.3bt source delivering 90 W. With a PoE+ (30 W) switch you should expect far less power for the outputs, so use an 802.3bt switch or injector for multi-camera installs.
How far can I reach in total?
Up to 100 m from the switch to the extender and up to 100 m from the extender to each device — 200 m in total — on Cat5e or Cat6 cable.
Can I chain a second extender?
Intellinet does not publish a daisy-chain configuration for this model. If you need more distance, tell us the layout and we will suggest a fibre or repeater option.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
This is the tidy answer for a cluster of four
IP cameras or access points at the end of a long corridor or car park: one 802.3bt cable out, four PoE+ devices powered at the far end. Size the source correctly — the extender itself has no power of its own.
✓ Buy it if you have an 802.3bt switch or injector and need up to four 802.3at/af devices more than 100 m away.
✕ Skip it if your far-end device needs more than 30 W, or you only have a PoE+ (30 W) source.
→ Also consider Intellinet 2-Port Gigabit Ultra PoE Extender (561600) for two devices, or a 10G/Multi-Gig injector at the source.
Tell us your switch model and the devices at the far end and we will check the power budget before you order.
