Intellinet OM1 Multimode Fibre Patch Cable — LC/UPC to ST/UPC, Duplex, 5 m
OM1 62.5/125 µmLC – ST UPC5 m DuplexLSZH Orange
The Intellinet 471336 is a 5 m duplex OM1 multimode fibre optic patch cable with LC/UPC on one end and ST/UPC on the other, built on 62.5/125 µm fibre in a LSZH orange jacket, 3.0 mm in diameter. It is made for maintaining existing 62.5/125 µm OM1 multimode installations, such as older campus backbones, patch panels and legacy equipment.
LC is the small-form connector used by SFP/SFP+ transceivers and most current switch and media-converter fibre ports. ST is the round bayonet (twist-lock) connector found on older patch panels and legacy equipment. So this cable bridges an LC port on one side and an ST port on the other — check both ends before ordering.
Before you order: This is OM1 62.5/125 µm multimode. Use it with multimode optics (SR/SX, 850 nm) and match the fibre type already installed — do not mix it with singlemode or 50/125 µm OM2–OM4 fibre.
What's in the Box
- 1 × Intellinet duplex fibre optic patch cable, LC/UPC – ST/UPC, 5 m
- Supplied in a polybag
- Transceivers, couplers and cleaning tools are not included
What It Means in Practice
- Duplex means two fibres: one transmits, one receives. If the link does not come up, transmit and receive are usually crossed — swap the two connectors at one end (A↔B) or use a coupler with the correct polarity.
- 5 m is the end-to-end length. Measure the route including slack in cable managers and trays before ordering — fibre should never be pulled tight or kinked.
- Minimum bend radius is 30 mm — keep loops wider than that in racks, boxes and trays.
- On OM1, 10GBASE-SR is only specified to 33 m; OM1 is mainly for keeping legacy links running, not for new 10G installs.
What Will Not Work
- It will not work with singlemode or 50/125 µm OM2–OM4 fibre or with singlemode optics.
- It does not mate correctly with APC (green, angled) ports or couplers.
- It does not plug into SC, MPO ports. If one end of your link is different, tell us the ports and we will match the right cable.
- It is an indoor patch cord, not an outdoor or direct-burial cable.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will it fit my SFP or SFP+ module?
Yes, if the module has an LC port and is a multimode type (SX, SR, 850 nm). Standard SFP/SFP+ optics use a duplex LC pair, which this cable provides on its LC end.
UPC or APC — does it matter?
Yes. UPC (flat, blue) and APC (8° angle, green) end-faces must never be mixed. This cable is UPC; use it with UPC ports and couplers, which is what most switches, SFP modules and data patch panels use.
Can I get a different length?
Send us the distance between the two ports and we will quote the nearest length in the same fibre type and connectors, so you do not end up with too much slack or a cable that is too short.
Singular Expert Insight · Buyer's Guide
Most fibre faults we see come from three mismatches: singlemode versus multimode, UPC versus APC, and the wrong connector at one end. This Intellinet cord is OM1, UPC, LC to ST — confirm those three on both devices and it will simply work. For the equipment side, see our
network switches.
✓ Buy it if your link is OM1 multimode, both ports are LC and ST with UPC polish, and 5 m covers the route with a little slack.
✕ Skip it if either end uses a different connector or polish, your transceivers are singlemode (LX/LR), or you need an outdoor-rated cable.
→ Also consider the same cable in another length, or a coupler/patch panel if you are extending an existing run.
Not sure it fits your setup? Send us the model of your rack, switch or device and we will check compatibility before you order.
