The Inter-Tech 88885550 is a 20 cm adapter cable that connects 3-pin 5V addressable RGB components — fans, LED strips, coolers — to the VDG connector of a motherboard when no standard 3-pin 5V RGB header is available.
VDG stands for Voltage, Data, Ground: the same three signals a 5V ARGB device uses. The adapter only changes the plug shape, so your board’s RGB software can control the lighting as normal.
Before you order: Both ends are 5V addressable RGB. Do not use it on a 12V 4-pin RGB header (12V-G-R-B): 5V ARGB LEDs on 12V can be damaged.

- Lets a case fan or LED strip with a 3-pin ARGB plug run from a VDG-style header on the motherboard.
- Lighting effects are then set in the motherboard’s own RGB utility.
- 20 cm gives enough reach from a front-panel fan to a header near the board edge.
- The extra 3-pin to 3-pin piece helps where the plug and header shapes don’t match directly.
What Will Not Work
- It will not convert 12V RGB to 5V ARGB or the other way round.
- It will not work on a 4-pin 12V RGB header.
- It does not add a controller — the motherboard (or a separate ARGB controller) still drives the LEDs.
- It does not power fans: the fan motor still needs its own 3/4-pin fan header.
