Kabelmeister Jumper Wire Set 40-Pin Male-to-Female, Separable Ribbon, 20 cm, 2.54 mm, for Arduino & Raspberry Pi, Multicolour
Kabelmeister 40-Pin Jumper Wire Set — Male-to-Female, 20 cm
The Kabelmeister JW40-020MF is a set of 40 male-to-female jumper wires, 20 cm long, joined as a multicolour ribbon that you peel apart singly or in groups, for connecting breadboards, Arduino boards, Raspberry Pi GPIO pins and sensor modules at 2.54 mm pitch.
Male-to-female is the combination you need most often with a Raspberry Pi or a sensor breakout: the female end slides onto a pin header, the male end plugs into a breadboard or a female header on an Arduino. Keeping the wires in a ribbon until you need them stops the usual tangle in the parts box, and the different colours make it easier to follow a connection from one end to the other.
What's in the Box
- 1 × set of 40 jumper wires, male-to-female, 20 cm, joined as a separable multicolour ribbon
What It Means in Practice
- Female end onto a Raspberry Pi GPIO pin or a sensor’s pin header; male end into a breadboard or Arduino socket.
- Peel off exactly as many wires as you need — or keep 2–10 together as a neat multi-wire lead to a module.
- Use colours consistently (e.g. red for 3.3 V/5 V, black for GND) to make debugging much easier.
- 20 cm is enough to reach from a Pi or Arduino to a breadboard next to it without loops of spare cable.
What Will Not Work
- It is not for male-to-male (breadboard to breadboard) or female-to-female (pin to pin) connections — those need the M-M or F-F sets.
- The 28 AWG copper-clad steel conductors are for low-voltage signals and small loads — not for motors, LED strips with high current or anything mains-powered.
- It is not a soldered, permanent connection: the push-on ends can loosen with vibration.
- It is not a ribbon cable with an IDC connector for the whole 40-pin header in one piece.
