Kensington ErgoSoft Wrist Rest Mouse Pad — Black
Gel cushionedUltra-soft coverErgonomist approved2-year term
Kensington’s ErgoSoft pad puts a premium ultra-soft exterior over gel-cushioned padding, and it makes a point about the feel: the rest will not stick to your skin and easily wipes clean, which is the usual complaint about bare gel. The mousing surface is described as high performance, giving best-in-class tracking control for both optical and laser mice with the ideal balance between control and speed — so it is not tuned to one extreme. The shape is ergonomist-approved: proper alignment, tailored dimensions and a unique curved design that minimises the impact of repetitive strain. The base is non-skid. Kensington covers it with a limited 2-year warranty.
Compatibility — check before buying:
This is a combined pad and wrist rest, so it replaces the mouse pad you use now rather than sitting in front of it. It is the general ErgoSoft pad; Kensington also makes a version specifically designated for a standard mouse and separate ErgoSoft rests for slim, standard and mechanical gaming keyboards, so make sure you are ordering the mouse pad if that is what you want. The honest gap: Kensington publishes no dimensions, no weight and no thickness for this part number on its EU page — we will not quote figures we cannot source, so if the footprint or the height decides it for you, tell us and we will measure a unit before you order. It is gel, not foam, so expect a soft, conforming feel rather than firm resistance. There is no keyboard rest in the box.
Best For
✓ Office desks with all-day mouse use
✓ Anyone who finds bare gel clammy or sticky
✓ Users who want one balanced surface for work and play
✓ Desks where a loose cushion keeps sliding away
✓ Optical and laser mice
✓ Sites that want a published manufacturer term
Key Features
Gel that does not stick
Kensington specifically claims the ultra-soft exterior will not stick to your skin and wipes clean — the two things people dislike about uncovered gel pads.
Balanced, not extreme
The surface is tuned for the ideal balance between control and speed rather than pushed to one end, which suits mixed work-and-play desks.
Ergonomist-approved shape
Kensington states the curved design, dimensions and alignment were developed to minimise the impact of repetitive strain, not styled for looks.
One piece, no drifting
Pad and rest are a single item on a non-skid base, so nothing slides out of position through the day.

Singular Expert Insight
The ultra-soft cover is what separates this from a plain gel pad: it wipes clean and does not stick to the skin on a warm afternoon. The surface is deliberately balanced rather than fast or slow, which makes it a sensible single pad for a desk that does both work and games. See our mouse pads and wrist rests and our wired mice.
